The Dangote Refinery: the social impact

When the Strait of Hormuz tightens and fuel prices start hurting families from Nairobi to Kampala, this shared Nigerian-Dangote and Kenya refinery becomes more than steel and tanks. It is East Africa choosing not to stay at the mercy of tankers that may never arrive. President Ruto has invited neighbouring countries to own a stake in the Lamu plant so the site protects the whole region: shorter routes, more stable pump prices, and 60,000 jobs that put money in young people’s hands instead of foreign shippers. The fertiliser and chemical factories that will grow around it will also bring cheaper food and more local industry, not just cheaper diesel. In the middle of a real oil shock, this is Africans building for Africans so energy security travels with the fuel and the dignity stays at home.

That’s a private investment you’re trying to shove our throats every day when we’re paying billions in taxes and there is nothing to show for it.

Ruto ...Ruto Ruto Ruto Ruto Ruto Ruto Ruto Ruto Ruto

Gigantic project to all Kenyan people.

Nakupenda

I am here with my late mother's book while won the girls dormitory from @JapaneseEmbass for katooke ss in kyenjojo district
What would've been so difficult in having KPRL hold a host stake in this investment on behalf of Kenyans? It owns a huge tank farm managed by KPC that could be used as a white oil transfer point to the Tz, Zambia, DRC, Rwanda and Burundi...just as the LAPPSET connects the North.

Na omba tu shughuli bossy
