I spent 4 years stationed in Germany in the early 90’s. Most Americans cannot comprehend REFORGER and the U.S. military and the Bundeswehr having mock battles in the middle their towns.

I was there! First NASCAR. Those heli’s came over the crowd. Four of them. Tail to tail over the infield. Then lowered cockpit towards crowd. I will admit my sphincter tightened a bit. It was pretty cool.
