The fact that CDPR willingly showed this Witcher 4 tech demo as an Unreal Engine 5 showcase means they have already set the expectations accordingly for Witcher 4. If Witcher 4 doesn't look like this or play like this, it will be the same situation of overpromising that Cyberpunk... 2077 had and I feel like there's going to be some backlash. It is a "Technical Representation - Not Actual Gameplay" but I struggle to understand what was the point of flexing the engine if the final product wont be identical to this, other than hyping the game up? Witcher 4 is still in development, so of course I expect changes that are visual, map changes, animations and character models, otherwise Witcher 4 should incorporate all the features they showed in this demo like: >multi character motion matching >muscle deformation >high foliage density >realistic NPC crowds >a responsive world >good performance (no UE5 stutters) >seamless NPC interactions and cutscenes I'd be disappointed in CDPR if these features didn't make it to the final product because it would seem that they haven't learned their lesson after Cyberpunk 2077.show more

I think you've forgotten what happened and missed out on my point of reference, so let me clear up your memory. I don’t doubt CDPR’s ability when it comes to incredible storytelling in their upcoming game, The Witcher 4. This right here was one of the best cutscenes I've ever witnessed in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and there was a lot of them. The raw emotion and the weight of this cutscene alone is fascinating, CD Project Red are true masters at crafting some of the best stories in video games.

This is only a small moment from The Witcher 3, but it's yet another example of how these characters view Ciri and how the games and books treat her. There are constant remarks about Ciri being a Witcher, or wanting to be a Witcher, or being raised as one. If Ciri becoming a Witcher was a surprise to you, or if it didn't feel like the best and most obvious direction forward for the franchise, I just think you weren't paying attention.

The fact that this whole cutscene in Cyberpunk 2077 is rendered in-game instead of being pre-rendered shows how Goated the REDengine 4 truly was in some scenarios like these. Loading assets and switching cutscenes at such a fast rate is incredible and all of this worked seamlessly. CD Projekt Red announced that they will be switching to UE5 in 2022 which has me worried, I really hope they optimize this new engine as much as possible for future titles, especially Cyberpunk 2 which will require loading assets at a fast rate while maintaining a stable framerate without shuttering issues in such a dense city filled with NPCs.

Crimson Desert visuals remind me a lot of Red Dead Redemption 2 and gameplay similar to Skyrim. The map is going to be twice the size of Skyrim and larger than Red Dead Redemption 2, but obviously map size and number of quests doesn't matter if they're all copy-pasted and repetitive. I also wasn't shocked when I found out it runs on its own proprietary engine because the visuals look truly different and unique from what I'm used to after playing a ton of UE5 games that have a similar look, hopefully the use of its proprietary engine also means a good performance with a high resolution. So far from what I've seen, this game looks stunning and sometimes I feel like it is too good to be true, I can't wait to get my hands on it and see if it lives up to all of this. This could actually be one of GOTY contenders for 2026.

This couple is having a wedding that will reflect who they are. They openly don’t seem to care if anyone will actually go or not. I think weddings are a celebration for everyone to join in for a special day. But I also think that offending guests before they even go might be a decision that will turn in a decision full of regret. So here’s my take on this. The way I see it is that they are going to be disappointed. I know others might argue and say that it’s selfish for the guests to not go because of the conditions set forth by the bride and groom, however it goes both ways. If they know guests won’t like the conditions of the wedding, then maybe they should compromise a little. I think they should give people options. I feel that this is going to show the bride and groom who is actually their real friends and who aren’t in their eyes. They won’t care if the guests don’t like the wedding rules, they are going to expect them to go because they think that their attendance shows that they care and that they are local.

You can't compare Cyberpunk 2077 launch to GTA 6 and here's exactly why Cyberpunk 2077 was the CDPR's first installment to feature a futuristic city with tons of NPCs and fast moving cars, something which was never done before on Witcher games. The gameplay video from Cyberpunk 2077 shown off in 2019 had a clear text showing "work in progress - does not represent the final look of the game" After the launch disaster of Cyberpunk 2077, Marcin Iwiński also explained that the reason the game had so many bugs is that the game was designed for PC first in mind, then scaled down to consoles that still had a hard drive (PS4 and Xbox One) an extremely difficult task on its own, combined with the fact that the game development progress took a major hit during the pandemic. Rockstar Games on the other hand has a much different engine and experience working on large scale open world game filled with tons of NPCs and fast moving cars, including the fact that they're developing this game for current gen consoles first, then scaling it up for a PC release not vice versa. Are we guys suddenly forgetting the fact that Rockstar Games managed to get GTA V running on a PS3 console which had 256mb of VRAM and 256mb of RAM at that time? The reason Rockstar Games has shown zero gameplay of GTA 6 is because historically they save the gameplay showcase before the game launches, GTA 6 Trailer 2 came out in 2025 and all footage for that Trailer was captured on a base PS5 with a mix of gameplay and cutscenes. They'll obviously show off more gameplay on August 27th, but comparing Cyberpunk 2077 to GTA 6 isn't exactly fair for both companies. On one hand, it was CDPR's first time making that kind of genre of a game and on the other hand, it isn't Rockstar Games first time making a Grand Theft Auto game.

I was asked to save the situation. They had quite a bit of money involved in this project. Peter Sellers was threatening to pull out because he didn’t like the screenplay. He said that the only way he would continue with the project would be if I took it over. I said that the only way I could possibly take it over, under such emergency conditions, would be that I would not be obliged to do anything like Archard’s play because a) I didn’t like it, b) I thought it was not a motion picture and c) I wasn’t ready to make a movie at that point. So they asked me what I wanted to do because the picture had to start in something like four weeks. I said that if they wanted me to save them, I’d have to take something with which I was familiar to begin with. I was familiar with the character of Clouseau. I needed a detective, somebody to solve a murder. I couldn’t throw the whole thing out. I had to use the idea that the maid was accused of killing the chaffeur and this had to be solved. So I thought that Peter Sellers was just the natural thing and that now I was going to try to be as broad with the character as I could be. “How far can I go now in terms of Inspector Clouseau?” I wrote the screenplay and was on the stage in four weeks with it. Fortunately, it turned out to be a reasonably funny movie. It proved something for me—that if a gag is well-designed you can pull it off." I’m 3 Minutes into the Official Mafia: The Old Country Gameplay Video and I’m already seeing issues with this Game. There’s this Gameplay section where Enzo drives a car and there are some clear stutters in this footage, not to mention the fact that this clip is trimmed up to show the best sections and even in those there are stutters? I can’t help but feel like there’s an apparent issue with almost every UE5 game that utilises fast traversal directly correlated to stutters, when driving cars always results in stutters and it looks like this Game is no exception either. I’m really hoping this game proves me wrong and the devs manage to flesh out all the stutters to give us a polished game but as far as I can see, this doesn’t look good for the Mafia: Old Country.

During DLSS 5 Hands-On Video, YouTube creator Hot Hardware asked Nvidia employees this question about the computational cost of DLSS 5 when you move around in the game and it really caught my eye on how they hesitated on showing any DLSS 5 footage during motion. Every time that he moved the character, he would turn off DLSS 5 first then move to a different in-game location and then turn it on, or if DLSS 5 was turned on the movement was very slow and controlled. I know this is still work in progress, but it really begs the question "why wouldn't they show any this?" or "why show DLSS 5 this early?" I tried freezing some shots when another character is in motion to check if there are any artifacts when DLSS 5 is turned on. As suspected, I did come across some artifacts with UI elements, character popping out of the UI element and ghosting/artifacts behind the character. Its still not the best way to judge these small details that you can clearly see if a footage is recorded in-game, but then again its not like Nvidia provided any of them during DLSS 5 marketing campaign. Whenever this is still going to be present by the time DLSS 5 launches remains to be seen, however as of right now it doesn't look like it will handle fast-paced motion quite well and I don't know how well this "controlled AI-generated" rendering will scale to weaker GPUs in the RTX 50 series

Whenever this is still going to be present by the time DLSS 5 launches remains to be seen, however as of right now it doesn't look like it will handle fast-paced motion quite well and I don't know how well this "controlled AI-generated" rendering will scale to weaker GPUs in the RTX 50 series

Borderlands 4 Performance Summary in 2 minutes: 0:00 - Native Res Badass Settings the game runs bad 0:30 - Upscaling Performance Mode Badass Settings, the game barely manages to hit 60FPS 1:20 - Frame Gen turned on and now you have 100 FPS Some people will turn all these settings on and be happy with it but in my honest opinion these are used as crutches to make the game look as if it performs good. Borderlands 4 has a certain art style that doesn't look like it needs these kind of settings to be turned on to play at a high framerate but sadly it does and you can defend this if you want but the future of gaming looks bleak, using this tech to not optimize the games further will just result in input latency increase as every game will be delivered with frame-gen turned on in the devs mind.
