I think Hunting, The Odyssey & The Talented Mr. Ripley are the three best performances of Damon’s career. It’s Christopher Nolan Week. The Oscar-winning director returns to theaters this coming Friday. Tell me your favorite Nolan film & tell me your favorite Nolan summer blockbuster. Inception is right next to The Dark Knight as the best summer blockbusters of my life, let alone specific to Nolan. I’m praying The Odyssey is remotely this good.

Roger Deakins won the Oscar for Best Cinematography for Blade Runner 2049. I’m glad Deakins won for this & I’ll never trust someone who disparages this film. It’s not Denis Villeneuve’s best, but it’s still an incredible film for a number of reasons. Deakins being the biggest.

Sean Penn wasn’t the only actor who took home an #Oscar for Mystic River. Tim Robbins also won for Best Supporting Actor. This is one of the best tandem/duo performances I’ve ever seen in the same film. These are two generational actors giving their best simultaneously. Iconic.

The Fisher King is one reason I love director Terry Gilliam. Featuring Jeff Bridges & Robin Williams, I’m not even sure what genre you’d classify this film in because it’s a combination of fantasy, comedy & drama. This earned Williams an Oscar nomination for Best Actor & won Mercedes Ruehl the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. This is a beautiful film.
