The fact that Tom Platz got into this position is testament to strength training and muscles NOT making you stiff. It’s always how you treat yourself, which motions you try to adapt. Flexibility contributes to aesthetics. Don’t only build muscle, but learn to move better.

Fascia stretching, including a whole chain is the superior stretching. This video was my motivation to get more into it. Modern bodybuilding presents it perfectly. The aesthetic posing routines, athletic appealing physiques are the ones moving the body fluently (flow state).

AFAIK best way to build flexibility is to build *strength at* the end of ROM. So strength is the key, it’s just in a specific position. Static stretches aren’t super effective.

Been there, done that. Getting very strong helped, but is not enough. Let me tell you. If you’re smart about stretching it does help a lot. Also great recovery benefit from it.

I think flexibility is actually more important. I am lean and muscular but horribly tight musclies, worst posture ever, so look bad imo

If you’re already lean and muscular just add it in. That’s what I did to take it a level further, instead of adding the work in to gain a little more muscle.

My two cents are that if you aren't flexible you probably don't have good form and you will end up hurting yourself.

He looks like he’s about to die doing this. I would say the muscle is inhibiting his flexibility.

iconic flexibility from platz, but most lifters get stiffer over time unless they rehab with intent. pro-level stretching is useless if you’re injured or not training movement mechanics. treat “muscle makes you stiff” as context-dependent, not rule; mobility benefits depend on how you build strength.

Reclining hero for flexibility is impressive. Peptide therapy boosts mobility, TB-500 promotes fascia recovery effectively. Tom Platz legend. To ease tightness, BPC-157 adds joint support.

Hardest part of starting this is my ankles. Can’t get the top of my foot down flat like that.

@Candy_xoxo109 He's doing that directly after an all out set on leg extension.
