The reason they attack the voting system is that they fundamentally don't believe that every Indian is equal. In their mind, there is no way a Dalit person is the same as an upper-caste person. They can't even compute that. And that's, to me, the real revolution in India in 1947 - we said that every language, every religion, and every idea in India is equal. Sometimes, the Europeans come to me and say they're struggling to build an economic union. But, here, we built an economic union and a political union in 1947.
