Karen Kwiatkowski, a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel, was asked whether that pitch could actually land. Her answer was the alarming part: yes, easily, because it arrives dressed as restraint, no treaties bind Washington anymore, and the word demonstration does all the reassuring. What follows, in her read, is the part nobody prices. Iran answers the unthinkable with resolve, treating the broken taboo as final proof of who it faces, and its nuclear armed friends, North Korea among them, need only hand over a device or two.
