The Gate (1987) 🔊

How did they make these little monster men? This scene freaked me out. I got to watch this movie again for Halloween.

They did this scene using a combination of practical effects, primarily forced perspective with actors in large suits on giant sets, and stop-motion animation for certain shots.

Recognize the child actor all grown up? Deacon Frost - Blade

This is a classic

The visual effects were definitely the movie's highlights.

This movie terrified me as a kid. Especially the eye in the hand. 😱

Jesus, the scariest part of that movie is the worker in the wall... Gave me nightmares..

A super young Stephen Dorff!

Love this movie! 🤘🏼🖤😘😈😈😈😈😈

The little demons sound a lot like the dwarves from Phantasm. Same audio guys? Same film studio?

Loved this movie back in the day - just the right balance between fun and scary. Think the little demon men were real men in suits and comped in using forced perspective etc.

That's awesome. Never heard of the movie but I kinda wanna watch it now.

Such an awesome movie the second one was good, but not quite as good as the first.

This movie freaked me out as a kid.

Scared the crap out of me as a kid
