In Prompt Engineering for Vision Models, taught by Abby Jacques Verre and Caleb Kaiser of Comet , you’ll learn how to prompt and fine-tune vision models for personalized image generation, image editing, object detection and segmentation. The prompts you'll use for vision models could be text, point coordinates, or bounding boxes, depending on the model. You'll also learn to tune hyperparameters to shape the output. Models you'll use include Segment-Anything Model (SAM), OWL-ViT, and Stable Diffusion. You'll also learn to fine-tune Stable Diffusion to generate personalized images (say, an image of a specific person), using a handful of images for training. As an example of a multi-step workflow, you'll use OWL-ViT to detect an object based on a text prompt, then pass the bounding box to SAM to create a segmentation mask, and input that mask into Stable Diffusion to replace the original object with a new one based on a text prompt. But does SAM2 outperform SAM1 in medical image and video segmentation? We're thrilled to present our paper "Segment Anything in Medical Images and Videos: Benchmark and Deployment"! We comprehensively benchmark SAM2 across 11 medical image modalities and videos. 📄 Paper: 💻 Code: **Highlights:** 1. SAM2 doesn’t always outperform SAM1 in 2D medical images, but excels in video segmentation, making it more accurate and efficient for 3D images, such as CT and MR scans. 2. MedSAM still outperforms SAM2 on most 2D modalities, but SAM2 surpasses MedSAM for 3D image segmentation in a slice-by-slice approach. 3. Segmentation performance varies with model size; sometimes the smallest model outperforms larger ones. 4. Fine-tuning SAM2 significantly boosts its performance for medical image segmentation. While SAM2 may struggle with challenging objects that have unclear boundaries or low contrast, it excels in generating good initial segmentation masks for common medical images and videos. However, the official interface doesn’t support medical data formats and has limitations on video length. To address this, we've developed a 3D Slicer Plugin and Gradio API for efficient 3D medical image and video segmentation. Announcing the Open Model Series: a new series on open source AI models, with merve of Hugging Face. Hugging Face is the open model hub: it hosts model weights, datasets, evals, & demo apps, and maintains the open-source libraries (like transformers) used to run and train them. I think of it like GitHub, but for AI models. You can download open models and run them on your own machines. In this series we'll cover what open source and open weight models are, how they work, how to run them yourself, and why they're important. By the way - this video is edited entirely with Claude!
