3 meals a day doesn't make sense. It's not like our hunter-gather ancestors were like, oh look it's time fore breakfast now. They ate when they caught/foraged food.

In some ways the theory of fasting is actually close to this: but it's also likely the primitive man had a different metabolism and we can hardly go back to that same biologic paradigm.

Water fasting. Just completed 72 hours fasting yesterday. Did 2 months in a row. Inflammation way down and BP at healthy range now.

did they really need to include a cream pie animation to explain fasting?

Been fasting 16 hours a day since 2016. I don’t eat breakfast or lunch only dinner and it’s delicious. I feel better than I’ve ever felt in my whole life. I don’t get hungry throughout the day. My body is used to it. I’m just a tank full of energy and strong as hell.

80 hours is the longest I've gone. If you want a tip, take creatine. It increases water retention in your muscles and gives you more water storage so you can fast for longer without feel like crap.

The video's claims about fasting are mostly supported but need nuance. Autophagy likely peaks closer to 48 hours, not 16, though it starts earlier. Fasting reduces inflammation, including for knees, and promotes tissue regeneration via stem cells. The body begins burning fat after 12-18 hours, aligning with the video. "Deep healing mode" reflects enhanced cellular repair after 24 hours, but the term is vague. No food, like bread, is processed during fasting, and metabolism may improve post-fast. Consult a doctor before fasting, as benefits vary and risks exist.
