The $153 million first phase will connect DIFC to Dubai Mall using autonomous Tesla cars through underground tunnels, cutting a 20-minute drive down to 3 minutes. Construction will involve tunneling beneath one of the world's densest urban environments, weaving around skyscraper foundations, water lines, gas pipes, and power infrastructure. The UAE wants 25% of all trips to be autonomous by 2030. The Teslas will launch with drivers, then go fully self-driving shortly after opening. Sin City proved it works. Now it's the desert's turn. Today, we approved the designs for the new passenger terminals at Al Maktoum International Airport, and commencing construction of the building at a cost of AED 128 billion as part of Dubai Aviation Corporation's strategy. Al Maktoum International Airport will enjoy the world's largest capacity, reaching up to 260 million passengers. It will be five times the size of the current Dubai International Airport, and all operations at Dubai International Airport will be transferred to it in the coming years. The airport will accommodate 400 aircraft gates and feature five parallel runways. New aviation technologies will be employed for the first time in the aviation sector. As we build an entire city around the airport in Dubai South, demand for housing for a million people will follow. It will host the world's leading companies in the logistics and air transport sectors. We are building a new project for future generations, ensuring continuous and stable development for our children and their children in turn. Dubai will be the world's airport, its port, its urban hub, and its new global center.

Under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the Federal Government is committed to completing the National Library Headquarters in Abuja. Over the past few months, the Federal Ministry of Education has held several meetings with members of the National Library team and its contractors to discuss the resumption of the project. The project, which was designed in 1981 and began construction in 2006, is the third (3rd) of three national monuments (the National Ecumenical Centre and the National Mosque) that has yet to be completed. This week, my team and I toured the project site with the CEO of the National Library, the project’s architect, and contractor to assess the progress made before construction paused in 2012. By June 2025, we will proceed with Phase 1 of the project, which will include the completion of Basement Levels 1 and 2, the Ground Floor, the Second Floor, and the building's external works and furnishings. Mr. President is deeply passionate about Nigeria’s human capital development, of which education is an integral part. The President has also instructed TETFund to allocate funding towards the project to ensure its resumption and completion. With a National Library, we can provide all Nigerians with a communal learning environment to help them grow and become their best selves.
