The incredible speed of light

I'm too dumb to know what's going on here. I know that the speed of light is 186,000 miles per second, but I don't know what TF this is.

This doesn't look like the roughly 50 000 km of cable which is the distance light travels in about 0.2 sec. Also, light does not emit light that you can see in an optical cable, you can't see light "sideways".

Nowhere near. This is shock tube (which itself is an even slower version of "detonation cord") that explodes along at about 2,000 m/s. Aka about 2 km/s Light is 299,792 km/s What you see is many, many orders of magnitude slower than light.

That is fast but that is not the speed of light.

Well one needs to see a bit carefully to understand..

That wasn’t the real speed of light. Light is slower while travelling through a medium.
