With a capacity for 4,500 offices, the plan was to have 1,000 diamond companies operating out of the complex by this Diwali. However, as of now, only 8 companies are functioning from here. Diamond traders from Surat and Mumbai were pressured into shifting to the SDB, and though a few initially moved, many returned to Mumbai after facing difficulties. Modi seems to believe that building flashy structures is the essence of development, assuming everything else will fall into place. India’s energy demand is expected to grow 2.5 times by 2047, accounting for around 25% of incremental global demand. Over the past decade, transformative reforms under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji have strengthened domestic capabilities, diversified energy sources, deepened strategic partnerships and accelerated our transition towards cleaner energy. The recently launched Samudra Manthan, with an outlay of over ₹84,000 crore up to FY 2030-31, is a major push to unlock India’s offshore hydrocarbon potential, including opening nearly 1 million sq. km of previously designated “No-Go” areas for exploration.
