The Trump policy is clear: the radical Islamic regime in Iran can never have a nuclear weapon. This has no correlation to the Bush invasion of Iraq nor does it contemplate regime change although a new regime would be welcomed by Iranians. I trust President Trump to keep his promise and get tough with the regime in Iran.

What that fund really is, is the new security architecture for Iran. When you look through the terms of this MOU, what it does is it removes all sanctions against Iran. It allows Iran to open up its markets to other countries in the Middle East in ways that it wasn't able to before. And it encourages other countries in the Middle East and other countries across the world to make major investments in Iran. Regime change is not our decision. We learned that the hard way in Iraq and Afghanistan - I fought in both of those wars. We ended up there for a long time in a war we didn’t understand. Regime change can only come from one place: the people of Iran. But let’s be clear - we may not be at war with Iran, but they are at war with us. My guest today, Quincy Institute’s Trita Parsi, escaped Iran during the 1979 revolution, and his family has been targeted and jailed by both the current regime and the previous Monarchy. He breaks down the repercussions of a regime change, how Iran will retaliate to U.S. strikes, and the increasing risk of a civil was in the country. He also makes a very interesting point: Iran is at the mercy of Israeli ambitions (the destruction of the current regime and the country’s military capabilities) and American/Gulf ambitions (a stable regime with possibly a new leader more friendly to the West). I enjoyed this interview as Trita, an expert in the region, does not take sides. Pakistan is not reliable at all and is willing to sustain the Islamic regime in Iran’s terrorism. Pakistan did not condemn Iran’s aggression against the UAE, Bahrain, and other Muslim countries. In negotiations with the Trump administration, Pakistan refused to ask Iran to stop attacking the Gulf states. Pakistan wants to be the oxygen for the Islamic regime. Saudi Arabia is making an agreement with Pakistan that will not provide protection; Islamabad will simply take funds and share some with the Islamic regime in Iran..it is essentially bribing terrorism not to attack you. That will not happen with the UAE. The UAE does not negotiate with terrorists.
