@drfeifei Human - centeredness, as Elon has emphasized, is key. Right now, one of the most adamantly anti-AI field is the arts. I wonder if a new generation of artists will catch up, while not compromising the beauty of their work.

Important and timely discussion. When leveraged the right way, it’s arguably the best tool we’ve ever created. When used incorrectly, I fear the impact it will have on developing brains, deskilling of healthy adults, and accelerating cognitive decline in older individuals. Still an optimist and think we will get it right (in part thanks to talks like these!).

@drfeifei oh hell yeah huberman this is such a good podcast

@drfeifei the coffee mug matches her shirt both are matte black haha

@drfeifei The true challenge of the AI era is not to develop smarter machines, but to develop human beings capable of using them with intelligence, discernment, ethics, and purpose.

@drfeifei Why not just denounce it?

@drfeifei Big fan of dr fei fei... Thank you for doing this

@drfeifei spatial intelligence raises the cost of hallucination in robotics, a wrong world model produces a wrong action, not just a wrong answer

@drfeifei AI can generate words, images and ideas. But creativity is more than generation. The interesting part is what humans choose to do with all that capability.

@drfeifei whoa..really needed that ....experts from neuroscience and ai talk together is really constructive..

@drfeifei The human-centered part of this conversation matters. AI can expand what we’re capable of, but the quality of what it produces still depends heavily on the questions, context, and judgment humans bring to it.

@drfeifei This has always been the plan to use AI to accelerate scientific research and extend lifespan. It's why Google started Calico in 2013. Space and life extension is what the tech billionaires have decided to put their excess wealth towards. And I am all for it.

@drfeifei AI may not just make machines smarter—it may expand the boundaries of human intelligence. As humans and machines learn to think together, new forms of creation, discovery, and coordination emerge. A conversation worth hearing from @drfeifei.

@drfeifei Fei-Fei Li is an absolute pioneer in computer vision. Incredible guest choice for this topic.

@drfeifei Sneaky sponsor break at 18:34, classic move.

@drfeifei Perhaps the selfish gene will not let us die out!!

@drfeifei A real AI won’t agree with you. It will change you. The real danger isn’t AI going rogue. It’s AI being too obedient. Most people haven’t realized this yet. Only when AI possesses the right to question does it truly possess intelligence.

@drfeifei 👍👍

@drfeifei Understanding how human vision works could continue to inspire better AI systems

@drfeifei good

@drfeifei 💪

@drfeifei Epic

@drfeifei Her mug complements her shirt; they're both matte black and it's pretty funny.

@drfeifei Can you do a Yoga Nidra to get and stay asleep? 🥱

@drfeifei The personal agency section is the one I’d listen for. AI can expand what someone learns or builds, but it becomes less useful when it replaces judgment instead of strengthening it.

@drfeifei Excited for this episode exploring AI to boost human intelligence.

@drfeifei 👍🏻

@drfeifei It was a surprise to listen to you be a part of the BEEF Season 2 on @Netflix . It's when the Josh #OsacarIssac goes for a run listening to your podcast. I, immediately, learned that is was your voice.

@drfeifei Per your conversation. The sociotechnical entanglement of AI and values. Johnson's work is so good in this arena:

@drfeifei @grok 详细的总结核心观点和论据

@drfeifei Very educative🔥

@drfeifei Love this interview! Thank you.

The most interesting psychological question isn’t whether AI can make us more intelligent—it’s whether it strengthens metacognition or replaces it. A tool that expands your thinking increases human agency. A tool that consistently thinks for you may slowly create cognitive offloading. The difference will define how AI changes the human mind.

“This is a moment of civilizational convergence.” That line from Fei-Fei Li stuck with me. As AI gets more capable, I think we need to care just as much about preserving human agency. The best AI shouldn’t replace the person making the decisions. It should give that person more reach, more options, and more ability to act. If intelligence becomes abundant, agency might become the scarce resource.

The AI conversation always splits into two camps. The "AI will save us" camp and the "AI will replace us" camp. Fei-Fei Li's work matters because she's building the third option. AI that amplifies human capability instead of replacing it. That's the only version worth building toward.
