I've just added seamless transitions between rooms. I also improved the lighting effects a bit, and added a lantern the player can turn on when needed. #gamedev #GodotEngine

A "Dynamic Time of Day" skull would have been neat, honestly. UE5's features makes this relatively easy. I plan on doing this in my game 'The Razorform', although I can also change the weather. Here's an (in editor) clip of quick transitions for time of day and weather.

Since Mortal Crux features several areas throughout the game world that can change in real time based on player actions, I've expanded the external camera system to allow more opportunities for in-game cutscenes to seamlessly highlight such events when they occur. Spawning 1000 characters 🚶🚶🚶 Well not really, they are actually 1000 props with vertex animations. I was curious how it would work. I used an Unreal Engine plugin Vertex Animation Toolkit and adjusted it to output 2K textures. You can load in multiple animations and bake into 1 Vertex Animation Texture array. In this case 2 idle and 2 walk animations. Using Verse to play random animations and walk to random locations. FPS drops a bit at 1000 props, i could play with distance culling. Nanite needs to be turned off, somehow it breaks the mesh on close up. Can’t wait for 1000 player servers lol #UEFN #FortniteCreative
