Can it run on an external install? Like if I have my setup on a VPS and then I connect the desktop app but run remotely?!

It can run in “remote gateway” mode: point it at a Hermes dashboard/backend URL on another machine and provide the session token, and the app will use that remote backend

@dspillere It looks like the macOS download app wants to install the full hermes agent and dependencies and no option to not do that... I don't want hermes on my local machine, just connect to my mac mini or vps hosted hermes. Why is there no install option that doesn't install server?

Any plans to let me use this app but connect to a Hermes running on a different computer? My main workflow relies on Slack and Telegram to use Hermes on a desktop host from my laptop/phone. This would be great if it can support that.

can we get a way to migrate our current hermes agent to the desktop app? couldn't get through the install but it seemed like it was creating a brand new agent and I don't want to import everything

It connects your existing agent if there is one

It's having trouble updating for me. When I updated from the CLI and then re-opened Hermes desktop, it said the installation was corrupted and ran the doctor to fix it, but then still said that it needed to update again in the bottom right.
