The customer can use your product in the wrong way. That doesn't mean the customer is wrong. Our first batch of hand mixers sold out. With almost zero customer complaints. But we noticed something interesting. Many customers were using it to mix large quantities of atta. More than what the product was originally designed for. The motor would get hot and trip. Technically, that's abnormal use. But customers don't care about what's written in the manual. They care about getting the job done. So instead of telling customers to change their behavior... We changed the product: - More copper in the motor - More power - Higher temperature tolerance That's how manufacturing works. You don't wait for 100 complaints. You improve after the first signal. Every batch should be better than the last.

Brian Tracy on his million-dollar sales lesson: "People don't care what your product is. They don't care about you. They don't care about your company. They don't even care what the product is." What do they care about? "The only thing people care about is what this product or service does for them." Brian explains that what customers really want is a change, an improvement, or a result in their life. "15% of buying behavior is determined by the past. 85% of buying behavior is determined by the anticipated future. What is going to happen as a result of me buying?" He illustrates this with a powerful analogy: "If you are selling a tour to the Canary Islands, spend 90% of your time talking about the destination and only 10% talking about the plane that you fly to the Canary Islands in." The problem? Most salespeople do the opposite. "Customers only buy improvement. The reason they buy is that they feel that the quality and quantity of the improvement will be greater than the cost and the trouble of using it." Sell the life they want, not the thing you made.

Every company says they have Forward-Deployed Engineers now. ElevenLabs CEO and former Palantir Deployment Strategist Mati Staniszewski gives one of the best explanations of what an FDE is—and says companies are missing the key piece of what actually makes FDEs valuable: “In our case, FDEs are part of the product team. They are not part of the go-to-market team. They are deeply embedded in understanding what the roadmap of the product is.” “You want all the FDEs to actually solve the customer problem and stretch your product in that direction. But the second thing you want them to do is bring any of that knowledge back to the product, so the product becomes better for the next generation of companies building on top of it. I feel like the second part is frequently missed.” “The beauty of that is—everybody benefits because you work with one customer, learn, and you bring that into the product experience. Both of those customers benefited from having their product optimized for better work.” “The domain expertise they have is still theirs. They can win based on their domain expertise. But the product experience of how you build based on that domain expertise can be abstracted, and can be reusable.”

Most AI creative tools still work like search engines. You describe exactly what you want. It generates something. You start over when the idea changes. What's interesting is what happens when the AI stays part of the conversation instead.

Storytelling is one of the most powerful tools a business has but the best stories aren’t told by the company itself. They’re told by customers. While content creation helps explain your product or service, nothing is more valuable than a customer sharing their own positive experience and recommending your business to others. That’s why customer service matters so much. An unhappy customer can do real damage to your brand, but a customer whose problem was solved can become your biggest advocate. When customers tell your story for you, it builds trust, strengthens your reputation, and becomes one of the most effective forms of marketing money can’t buy.

One of the biggest bottlenecks in product development isn't building. It's truly understanding what customers need at scale. Frank AI fixes this with persistent AI interviewers that run deep customer conversations 24/7, video, voice, intelligent follow-ups, and everything synthesized into actionable insights you can actually chat with. This isn't another survey tool. Think of it as a dedicated research team that scales infinitely and removes human bias. The video below shows how natural the interactions actually are. Frank is Live: Curious how tools like this fit into your engineering-led product process. Drop your thoughts below. Frank AI Researcher

Scott Belsky on the most common mistake founders make when building a product “Every product has what we call a ‘first-mile experience’, which is the part of your product that the most customers will see. And it’s all drop-off from there. What gets people through the first-mile experience? First, you have to empathize with where that customer is at — whether they’re a consumer or an enterprise customer, in the first 30 seconds of that first mile of your product, I guarantee you, they’re lazy, vain, and selfish. They want to get through it fast. They want to look good to their boss or their friends or feel good about themselves. There needs to be some quick hit of feeling successful in that first mile for them to engage further.” Ironically, the first-mile experience is the last thing many companies and product people will focus on. “Typically it’s the final mile before you launch where you’re like, ‘Oh wait, what should the onboarding be?’ or ‘What should the defaults be?’ That’s like a happenstance conversation towards the end of shipping when in fact that’s the only thing that every customer will ever see. So why not nail that?” Scott takes this point even further: “If you can really just nail the first-mile experience of your product — even if after that it’s all kind of crappy — you’re probably in the top 1% of products out there.” Another interesting point Scott makes here is that optimizing the first-mile experience is something that you’ll have to continually work on because your customers change over time. “Your first cohort of customers that used your product, those were early adopters — and your first-mile experience was nailed for them. But [as you’ve grown] this new cohort of customers that started using your product are no longer early adopters. They’re pragmatists. They’re not coming because they like to test and try new products. They’re coming because their boss told them they had to or they read some blog that said this was the best product in the space, and the first-mile needs to be different for them.” Scott sums his point up as follows: “Spend consistent time, forever on that first-mile experience of your product.” Video source: South Park Commons (2025)

Elon tonight on the Model S and Model X: "Those cars were made with love; That's at the heart of any great product. If the employees making it genuinely love the product, when you genuinely love your kids, you care about things in a different way; You do things to make the product amazing because you love it. And that's what translates to people wanting the product."

AI agents are overrunning the internet. Finding real customer opinions is getting harder by the day. You know the feeling. You search for what people actually think about your product. Half the "reviews" are AI-generated. The other half are sponsored. Real opinions are buried somewhere between bots and paid posts. I used to spend hours scrolling Reddit threads and TikTok comments just to find the truth. Then I found Honestly, which launched today on Product Hunt. It cuts through the chaos of social media by discovering verified conversations about your product across Reddit, TikTok, X, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook - then turns them into insights your team can actually act on. Here's what it does: ➟ Crawls every platform where real shoppers talk ➟ Verifies every opinion, removing anything that isn’t authentic ➟ Identifies customer feedback at the product level (not just brand) ➟ Surfaces trends across domestic and overseas markets ➟ Spots creators already talking about your products (unclaimed affiliates = money left on the table) No more dashboards full of noise, just the signal that matters. What this actually means: ✓ Fix product issues before they go viral ✓ Catch trends before your competitors to maximize social reach ✓ Recover lost revenue by onboarding creators already promoting you 32B "[product] reddit" searches per year. 90% of consumers say authenticity matters. 79% trust unpaid UGC over brand content. The real conversation isn't on your review page anymore. 👉 Stop guessing what your customers are saying. Know it. 📌 See what social media honestly thinks about your product → Honestly is live on ProductHunt right now: 🔄 Repost if you've ever spent an hour scrolling Reddit just to find one honest opinion. — #CustomerInsights #MarketResearch #UGC #AI #Honestly #ProductHunt

Agents changed software forever. For everyone. You won't need to "learn a tool" anymore. Instead, you'll tell tools what you want, and they will figure out how to do it. This is a huge shift. I'm currently working with Spoki, an AI agentic conversational platform. After looking at this, you'll never think of a CRM the same way. A traditional CRM manages contact data. Spoki manages the entire customer journey (marketing, sales, and customer care) in a single continuous flow across WhatsApp, SMS, and Voice AI. AI will dismantle the old traditional tools one by one. Think of it this way: Instead of stitching together a bunch of tools to talk to your customers, you have a single conversation that runs the entire relationship.

Our head of finance and our head of AI walked into an interrogation room with Lil Stuut. What happened next is both a product launch and surprisingly good acting. Today we shipped Ask Stuut, your AI-powered AR analyst. Ask what's happening in your receivables, why it's happening, what Stuut is doing, what needs your attention, and what should happen next. Instead of digging through reports, you get clear answers based on your data. We built this on Snowflake Cortex and became one of the earliest production deployments of the Cortex Agent in fintech.

The issue isn’t the models or training process, it’s product. The AI interface is a search field, an antiquated one-sided input. In Ex Machina, the pivot is when Ava alters the interaction model, changing the relationship entirely. This scene is critical. AGI will require this.
