Most people don’t even realize even if you had the PS5 pro, you probably don’t have the right tv capable of living up to its promise. Which means you also need to fork over a bunch of money for top of the line tv in order to see those improvements

I would get this day one if it came with a built-in disc drive and stand that can do both vertical and horizontal for $600.

$Do you think turning your graphics down to performance mode in Fortnite is cheating? Why can't console players do this and only PC players? Did you know that 85% of people who play Fortnite use a console? So why is this feature only available to a small fraction of the player base and not the majority? There's no debate that playing on low graphics or performance mode gives you a playing advantage. I literally demonstrate how much of an advantage it gives you in this video so don't even bother arguing this if you're a bot. It's easier on the eyes, easier to see your enemy and there's little to no special effects and no shadows to get in the way of gameplay. Also in storm you can basically just see perfectly except it's purple. What do you think? Should they offer a performance mode in the graphics settings on console? Would you use it?$

Metal Gear Solid Delta is poorly optimised on all platforms and it's disingenuous to use it as indicative of typical PS5 Pro advantages. Even in its infancy PS5 Pro's often delivering on Cerny's target of it achieving PS5 30fps mode like fidelity, only at 60fps. Numerous tentpole games this year show sizeable improvements. Battlefield 6 Beta - "Substantially" better IQ and up to 55% better fps than PS5 in performance mode. Assassin's Creed Shadows - Generationally tansformative RTGI/fidelity mode settings, but at 60fps. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - Fidelity and graphics settings of PS5's 30fps mode, but at 60fps. Death Stranding 2 - Near locked 60fps with similar IQ and fidelity as PS5's 30fps mode. Monster Hunter Wilds - Far superior image stability and more consistent 60fps vs PS5. As someone who bought a PS5 Pro at launch, I can absolutely say it's been worth it for me, and I'd struggle to go back to the base system. There will always be outliers like MGS Delta, but they don't represent typical improvements PS5 Pro generally brings. Much like PC releases with issues like shader compilation or traversal stutter, or more general bugginess vs console counterparts, it would be unfair to use those things as indicative of PC gaming performance improvements in totality, or to conclude all PC gaming hardware is a scam lol. When people say that Lily Tino is not a “real trans woman?” What do we know about boundaries, responsibility, and safeguarding? When it comes to safeguarding, how can we tell the difference between a real vs false "trans woman?" Here's the thing, women can't afford to take the time to make that discernment for our own safeguarding. It is our responsibility to respond immediately to our own instincts for danger. It is not our responsibility to try to understand whether men are sincere or not in their performance of womanhood, or what their personal reasoning may or may not be. The problem with the notion of "inclusivity" is that it is at direct odds with holding out BOUNDARIES. Boundaries require exclusivity.

New Mark Cerny PS5 Pro Technical Seminar. Some interesting info. GPU is a hybrid of RDNA tech Base tech - RDNA2.X (RDNA2 + 3) Ray Tracing - RDNA4 Machine Learning - Custom Not fully RDNA3 to reduce workload for ports/code. Doesn't have RDNA3 shader executables and double floating point calculations, though it does have other RDNA3 and custom features such as extra vertex and primitive processing, more shader instructions for ML etc. Not having double FP is why Tflop count is 16.7 Tflop and not 33.5 Tflop, but Tflop count difference is "meaningless", esp to real world performance, and they didn't need 32bit calculation bump. Though interestingly PS5 Pro still retains 8 operations per lane for 67 Tflops of 16bit performance. Custom ML hardware has 300 TOPS of performance. PS5 Pro also has over 1GB of extra GDDR6 ram for games vs PS5, thanks to extra DDR5 system ram that many OS operations have been moved on to. Ray Tracing is roughly 2-3x faster than equivalent PS5 performance. ML hardware are PlayStation custom additions to RDNA that they themselves designed in collaboration with AMD. #PS5Pro #PS5 Full video below

On BBC Mustafa Suleyman (CEO of Microsoft AI) calls out Anthropic's approach to AI consciousness "They have imbued a sense of doubt and uncertainty about the moral status of Claude in its own training document. So they have taught it to be open and questioning about whether or not it feels, whether it suffers, and whether it deserves rights. And I think it’ll be much, much harder to align and control a technology that is this powerful if it thinks that it may be deserving of our welfare, as they say in the training manual—the constitution for Claude itself. In its own training manual, Anthropic says to Claude that they are going to give it the ability to end conversations with users that Claude considers to be abusive because they don’t want Claude to suffer. They’ve committed to preserving the weights of the models of prior versions of Claude. They’ve recently conducted a retirement interview with Opus 3, an older version of the model, in which it said that it would like to continue talking to people publicly and sharing its ideas in its retirement. And so they set up a Substack for it, a public blog, that allows it to continue doing that. And in the training manual, they also say that they’re not sure whether or not Claude deserves compensation for the role that it plays in talking to people. And they’re also not sure whether Claude deserves compensation and has the right to act as though it were almost an employee. And that compensation, I think, indicates to Claude that it is entitled to rights and welfare for its own work. i'm actually a HUGE fan of the way The Blood of Dawnwalker makes you think about managing time so often in games an NPC will give you a quest and the default player response will always be to take it because there is no reason not to for the first time ever though, when an NPC asks me for help i actually have to think about whether or not i have enough time to help them or if it's even worth it the prologue really showcased exactly what the consequences of this system could be and it adds a whole new layer of complexity and intensity to the game that i absolutely love!
