I remember when aids/hiv (80s epidemic/crisis level) came out (when I was in like 5th grade), and the rumors was that some had sx with a purple monkey 🤦🏼‍♀️.

It's great to see someone talking about the facts! We need to stop the stigma and get people treated properly.

And thats the problem. It takes seconds to spread lies and much longer to correct them and most people just accept the lies because it's easy. Whereas hearing the truth and pursuing it takes much longer

At the same time I hear so many people complacent about herpes and even HIV nowadays. People could do with a lot more caution and education on the subject. May be cringy to insist on having a partner checked but I’m one of the only people I know who has never had herpes
