This scene is still so sad. Both actors are amazing in it. AJ is in serious crisis, and Tony can’t just enjoy a simple snack and is so annoyed but doesn’t hesitate to jump in to save his son.

There’s something so rewarding about watching Tony jump in there. Heavy scene

I remember being so pissed that AJ made it out of the pool alive. Top 3 most hated characters in tv show history. I hoped every episode he'd get killed off.

this and the scene where Uncle June cries are such hard re-watches for me every time

I love how long Tony holds onto his food

The way this show balanced the humor with the dramatics is a class all it's own. 'AJ, what the fuck??' has me lol'ing and then Tony comes in with 'You're ok, baby.' and the feels completely shift. This scene was definitely more of a showcase for Jim.

Well done, Robert. Well done, James. 💔 No matter how many times I’ve watched this, it still bursts with raw pain. Tony knows all about how awful he must have felt to get to this point, but dad instincts to chastise bump that fear, just for a moment. Great writing, David.

End of that scene is tough to watch. You see a rare bit of humanity from Tony. Genuine love for someone other than himself

Gandolfini stole this scene for me… so much range… so many emotions
