Reminds me of the dude from the Dragon's Lair arcade video game.

After that things got... complicated.

sword in the stone is a christmas movie in this household

The black knight was low-key the first Disney Chad. Probably would’ve been revealed to be loyal Sir Bedivere if the story continued.

I never thought being able to pull the sword OUT was very impressive. I was impressed by the guy who just casually stuck the sword through an anvil into the stone...

All time Favorite🙂😊😊

This is giving… main character having a breakdown.

Strange finding this post here. In 1983, Disney wanted to re-release this movie at the theaters, but someone said it was not long enough. So, they hired Rick Reinert Productions to create the 'Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore' short. A woman in the Cleveland area that knew back then worked for him on the side doing the Opaquing, or painting. She had so much work that she hired me to help. I wasn't paid much, and wasn't in the credits, but I did work on that film! A picture of me back then with a full head of hair, painting art cels in my bedroom!

Before Sonic and the Black Knight, before Fate/stay night, and before Monty Python and the Holy Grail, there was Disney's Sword in the Stone.

My fav Disney movie, and love the guy with the deep voice speaking out and making the other dunderheads actually let the boy try it and prove his claim.

wait.......is that Colonel from 101 dalmatians ?

A FUN ARTHURIAN FACT: In some iterations, the sword in the stone is Excalibur, however in more solid source, the sword is named Caliburn and was broken in battle, later reforged into Excalibur, sometimes they are two different swords. Caliburn is just another name for excalibur

My version looks different...

Madame Mim clears 99% of modern villains, CHANGE MY MIND

These expressions really says a lot about him at this very moment. I think this stands out more in comparison.

This should get a live adaptation. Along with The Black Cauldron, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and Treasure Planet. Disney should stop remaking already flawless movies and take a risk on a remake for a movie that was not well recieved when it came out.

No one shall ever know the truth behind That fateful day. Artorigus went forth To where the brilliant sword didst lay. 'Twas the first of many feats so great, A legend through and through. We sing of him, Artorigus, the Noble and the brave. -From the Tales of the Noble Knights

My first order as king: "Put Sir Kay and Sir Ector in the front line where the fighting is fiercest. Then withdraw from them so they will be struck down and die."

In the original King Arthur story, Sir Kay became one of the knights of the round table.

It's kinda blessing in disguise that I didn't grow up knowing about the legend of King Arthur with Disney one first. Otherwise I would learn that his story has no happy ending the hard way.

One of my favorites as a kid.

I see this version where Ector and Kay treat Arthur like crap through the whole movie, even reluctant to bow to Arthur when he pulls the sword. vs Excalibur where Arthur has a good relationship with his foster family. Personally I prefer the later between the two.

Very Don Bluth...(Yes,I know he was a Disney animator)

⭐

Ohhh, when I was a kid I searched for this Disney animation so much. It was the only one I didn’t have in my collection, and the fact that it was so rare made it really special to me.

I grew up with the latin American dub of this movie , and the English version dont have even half the charisma and heart

“So the last will be first, and the first will be last.” Matthew 20:16

After Author removed the sword Tony the Tiger should have said, “It’s GREEEEAT!”

When I saw Arthur pull the sword from the stone, something in me stirred. It satisfied a childhood fantasy—that maybe I, small and frail in the real world, could still be chosen. That one day I might step into a different version of myself.

Shoutout to Thurl Ravenscroft, the OG Tony the Tiger. Dude always left a dare I say “GREAT” impact with that booming voice of his! 😁

Disney’s animated adaptation of the Arthurian legend premiered in 1963.

See, only a fool tries to remove the sword from the stone...instead remove the stone from the sword.

Top 5 easily, maybe number one Disney animation. Robin Hood and this one battle for top spot…..as the clip goes on I say this one takes them all!

Classic👌
