The Sword in The Stone (1963)

This film has so much heart, such a warm throwback

Meanwhile the "fake hero"

The girl squirrel scene was my first introduction to actual heartbreak. She really was ready to risk it all for him and got left in the dust. I’m still not over it. 😭

"That's what I say, give the boy a chance!" Better do what he says, he's voiced by Tony the Tiger. lol/hj

Listen! Strange rocks and anvils distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical test of strength!

A bunch of them should have bloody hands from grabbing the sharp side of the sword

Someone post the wizard battle, that was my favorite when I was a kid.

> “lol they picked their king by way of drawing a sword from a rock, so dumb” >Look inside >chosen by God

Watched this 100's of times as a kid on VHS

I was once mocked in school for pronouncing the w in sword and I never recovered

Yep. A 13 year old is the new king.

Anime speaks into heart...

I had absolutely no idea this movie was from 1963. I watched it as a kid several times and wrongly assumed it was from the late 70's or very early 80's.

Totally epic animation.

he should fuck that squirrel tho

Wasn't expecting the boy to sound like that.

My favorite movie as a kid, but now I realize it's mostly just meh..

The fact it ends when the story gets really fucking good and we don’t get sequels or follow ups pisses me off so much

great film

The genius of the animator Milt Kahl.

The Sword in the Stone: note the outlines of the supple drawing.

Is there an English (British) Dub of this movie? It’s set in England yet they all have American accents lol 😂 one of my fav movies though

Modern version

God shining a Light down and I Got 666 Retweets lol. Love The Sword in the Stone. My first introduction to one of my Favorite Legendary Swords.

If you ever wondered what Dirk the Daring was up to before Dragon's Lair.

Disney could turn this into a live action movie they did but it was awful in my opinion

A VOZ DO ARTHUR

💎

Still my favorite Disney movie.

Weren't they tossing this and a Chanticleer movie for a while before deciding on this?

This animation is actually beautiful

What if Hazel (The Little Girl Squirrel) transforming into a human from a squirrel in the sequel, following the 1963 Disney’s film The Sword In The Stone.

Memories 🥲

La amo

If this was made today, all the men who failed to pull the sword would call shenanigans and slink off into a cave to plan the kid's death because how dare he show them up?
