The temporary foreign worker program is failing to prevent abuse and exploitation. The federal government needs to take action. We need an immigration system that protects workers from exploitation, and gives people hope that everyone can build a good life in British Columbia.

Congressman Wesley Hunt has been clear: Widespread fraud and systemic abuse are the direct result of policies that invite exploitation. That’s why today, he introduced the TPS Reform Act of 2026, legislation that eliminates Temporary Protected Status designations for certain countries and restores clear statutory boundaries to the program. The American people deserve an immigration system where humanitarian policies are not weaponized against the nation they are meant to serve.
