Love hearing an all-time great mention this. I never liked this drill and never thought it mimicked my natural throwing motion. I thought it was just a way to fill practice time.

Man I remember seeing you plow your pitching arm into barrels of rice. If Dave stieb didn’t come before you, hands down you’d be my favourite pitcher ever. Wow was I happy when you came to Toronto.

This is the kind of wisdom we need to hear!

The towel drill took my velo from 94-96 in 2000 with the Hagerstown Suns to around 87-91 in only a few short weeks. Towel drills are horrendous. Thanks Hector Berrios for all those bullpen sessions in RF👎

I don’t use it much other than for them to get the feel for following through and bending over, kicking over on follow through. What would you recommend I do instead? 10U baseball. Thanks Rocket!

@rogerclemens Can you explain your routine in between starts? Also, how long did you shut down in the off season?

Never taught it that way. 🤷‍♂️ The pocket path key is the whoosh, not a snap.

Use a larger ball between forearm and bicep. My kid uses a squishy foursquare ball and it's been helpful with his machanics. You ever try that or suggest it?

Hey @rogerclemens how do you feel about working with weighted ball aside from long toss. My 7yr old son Rhett who is playing 8U Baseball, loves the game and loves to practice. Just want to make sure I'm doing it right to build arm strength. Appreciate your time.

I aint no pitcher, how should you lead your pitch. I guess your hand stays in front during the motion?
