Wind turbines are getting bigger, more efficient, and are delivering higher output. That sounds impressive, but it isn't compared to other sources. A single nuclear plant, for example, produces around 1,750 megawatts. To match that, you need roughly 150 large turbines. Wind uses over 100X more land than nuclear for the same output. And turbines, of course, only produce power when the wind is blowing. Nuclear is constant. Then there's the storage requirements. To make wind reliable, you need batteries. At grid scale, that becomes impossible with current technologies. Wind power remains an expensive pipe dream, lining the pockets of a few at the expense of the many.

The Berwick Bank offshore wind farm off Scotland's east coast has been approved. Conservation groups warn it could become the deadliest wind farm for seabirds ever built. The government's own impact assessments predict large numbers of bird deaths, including puffins, kittywakes, gannets, guillemots and razorbills. Despite the objections, the project was just awarded subsidies that will add £1.8 billion in green levies to UK energy bills. The RSPB called the decision an absolute disgrace, saying public money is being used to fund one of the most damaging wind farms for wildlife on earth. A new Science Advances study shows offshore wind turbines actually warm the sea surface. Spikes near as much as one degree Celsius, which is as large as natural summer variability. Turbines slow the wind, explains the study. This weakens mixing, shuts down upwelling, and in turn traps heat at the surface. The warming appears within days and spreads tens of kilometers from the wind farm. These warm waters then heat the air above, creating extra upward heat flux and a more unstable boundary layer. Stack this onto bird kills, sediment disruption, underwater noise and microplastic shedding, and the picture is clear: Offshore wind isn't solving an environmental problem, it's becoming one.

He’s a British-born researcher who focuses on countering online hate and misinformation, but the Trump administration accuses him of trying to censor viewpoints that he does not agree with. Ahmed leads a group called the Center for Countering Digital Hate, and he is one of five European nationals recently barred entry to the U.S. by the State Department. In fact, China is the world leader in the use of wind power. It is building additional wind power in China far faster than the pace at which the U.S. Is building in the United States itself. So the idea that China is just, you know, foisting this terrible source of energy on other countries while refusing to use it is a reversal of reality.

McIntrye Wind Farm recently connected some of its turbines to the grid, those works are on hold as it investigates the incident.” “The 458MW Coopers Gap wind farm in south west Queensland, the newest and biggest wind project built to date in Australia – is to undergo major repairs after faults were found in its commissioning process. They break easily as we saw last week on the Darling Downs. If the blades on a wind farm can’t survive a summer storm on the Darling Downs they will be useless. This is just another example of wind farms being unreliable. A few years ago wind farm had to replace 50 out of 123 turbines just after it was commissioned. Australia cannot not afford to be pursuing Net Zero policies being pushed by the two major parties. We should focus on using our coal, uranium and gas resources instead of imported materials. It promised an inside look at allegations of abuse and torture suffered by men deported by the Trump administration and sent to a notorious prison in El Salvador. The new editor-in-chief of CBS News, Bari Weiss, said the segment would eventually run, but it needed comment from a Trump administration official. But 60 Minutes correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi condemned the decision, writing in an internal email that they did reach out to the administration and heard nothing back.
