The US is introducing a new programme that allows eligible B-1/B-2 visa applicants to pay an additional $750 for an expedited interview appointment. The service, available at select embassies and consulates from July to December, promises an interview within 10 business days.

The Director-General of the National Service Authority, Ruth Dela Seddoh, has revealed that 94,000 of the 152,000 applicants are eligible to begin service in December, and assured that the 2025/2026 service year will still run through to December 2026. She also disclosed that over 12,000 prospective personnel have signed up for the military training programme, surpassing the expected 10,000.

The Las Vegas City Council will appoint an interim Ward 2 Councilmember to fill the remainder of former Councilwoman Victoria Seaman’s term following her resignation to take a federal position. The term runs through either July or December 2026 depending on the 2026 primary election. Applications are open now through 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5 at Applicants must: – Live in Ward 2 – Be a qualified elector (registered or eligible to vote) The City Council is expected to make the appointment at the Sept. 17, 2025 meeting.
