And also, another interesting fact that I think not many have noticed is that the dialogue at heaven’s night (after the cutscene) changes if James doesn’t examine anything and leaves early with Maria (if I remember correctly he gets angry at her).

That’s so interesting! i thought there were 2 cutscenes (the second one I triggered by being closer to the white curtains) but I didn’t know there was a third one. Also , sorry for my bad english

The inventory's background shows the moment James kills Mary from the OG SH2 (see end of the video). At first it's slow and blurry because James is getting flashbacks but he's in denial, and it becomes clearer and faster after the Pyramid Heads fight, when he accepts the truth. James can get a nervous tic if he gets too stressed. It can only trigger after he enters Brookhaven, the hospital likely triggers a PTSD response and the stress remains afterwards. Interacting with a red square stops the tic. Perhaps what helps is the feeling of "someone groping around his skull" that he mentions in the opening..? As though something "resets" his nervous system.
