We built this onboarding flow in React Native that feels better than most native apps Here’s how we did it: ① Patched react-native-screens for a custom transition ② Button and stepper are rendered on top of the stack ③ Synced button state across screens via context The button and header are positioned absolutely above the stack. When a screen focuses, it updates the shared button state (text, disabled state) via context The hardest part is keeping the keyboard open during screen transitions. We solved it with hidden TextInputs that get focused programmatically before navigating The result: one button flows across every screen and surfs the keyboard

Gave UEFN its own blueprint graph. Python tool running inside the editor. Scans your level and parses your Verse code to draw a full visual map of your game logic. What it shows you: - Every device in your level as a node - Every @ editable reference between devices - Every event subscription and function call - Which Verse functions are actually being used vs sitting there doing nothing What it catches: - Broken connections where an @ editable points to nothing - Orphan devices with zero connections - Unassigned editables you forgot to wire up What you can do with it: - Click a node, and it selects the device in your viewport - Double-click to fly straight to it - Open the Verse file in VS Code with one button - Search and filter by device type - Zoom in and out - Add notes to any device - Export the whole graph as a doc

Game #1: Flappy Llama This is my first time experimenting with Scene Graph, and I absolutely love it. I can just drop down as many Flappy Llama machines as I want, and each one works as its own fully independent arcade game. Fortnite Developers #UEFN #Verse Tim Sweeney - 100% Verse UI built with Material Blocks and parameter control - Local sound effects play directly from each machine (idle SFX or gameplay triggers) - Dynamically updating leaderboard - Machine animates on player input so others see it in use (including the screen showing it’s occupied) I’m not great with materials, so huge shoutout to Blanky | R-leeo Maoate for setting me up with a simple material that had the parameters I needed to make the game work (and for helping me figure out how to decorate my fun little machine). Game #2 will be shown soon, it just needs a few final touch-ups, but I love it just as much. (here's your hint 💣🧹)

One property ⭐️ You can create the effect by placing a button over your content and using mix-blend-mode 🫶 button { mix-blend-mode: difference; 👈 position: fixed; } It's a really easy one to play around with and you can get some pretty interesting results. Driving a Tesla in Europe is fun and works well (will be even better with FSD) … BUT, there is one very common and annoying issue that really needs to be addressed. Crossing country borders, especially for those who live close to the borders is extremely annoying because connectivity is often lost and can only be regained quickly by doing a two-button reset on the move. This is really a big issue because you also lose navigation while the connection is lost and happens so frequently this is becoming the unofficial standard practice. I’ve heard from many European Tesla owners that they really wish there was a better solution and it would make ownership and driving a much better experience. Hopefully Tesla Europe, Middle East & Africa and Tesla can figure out and offer some kind of software update to eliminate this frequent customer complaint issue!

This was my first big UI menu in UEFN after the new tools dropped and a proper stress test for Verse Fields, View Bindings, and the updated UMG workflow. • 100+ Verse Fields • 175+ View Bindings • 40+ Animations Built the whole menu with reusability + optimization in mind (just 3 textures + a small set of materials). Multiple UX passes later and I’m really happy with how it turned out 🔥 Huge props to Noah who handled the entire Verse side, couldn’t have done it without him. And of course Heavyblue 🐐 Learned a ton of UMG lessons the hard way, might drop a thread with those soon. If you have any questions, ask them below 👇

Additive Player Animations 🔥 Basically this is using the Anim Controller in Verse. If you set up an animation that only controls a few bones, be it an arm, the root or something else, you can do pretty wild stuff like resizing/transforming bones of the player. We might have struck a innovation gold mine, there's a few limitations though, but it's fun nonetheless. I'll have a tutorial out tomorrow going over this, it's surprisingly simple to do, it was going to be out today but all the audio for the video got corrupted got to re-record all of it. Thanks to Klian and Noah for the help! #uefn #fortnite

I a see lot of anxiety with customers when it come to AI. Lots of FOMO, fear of missing out. Fear is not a good decision driver. Hence my advise to get educated first before you dive in.That there is no shame in hitting a pause button. Partner Globant and I had an interesting fireside chat of which a clip is circulating. And please do not let the media determine your architecture.
