There are House members that are ready to move in the House, and you'll see congressional action. President Trump said that this next two-week period will be outcome-determinative. ZELENSKYY: Before G7 started, to be honest, we gave message that we are ready to meet with Putin during G7. Because Trump will be there and Macron will be there, Starmer, and Merz. Last night alone, Russia launched 172 strike drones — over 100 of them were Shaheds. These massive drone attacks have now become a near-daily reality. On top of that, there are continued missile threats, including ballistic ones. Our partners should clearly understand: these strikes are not just attacks on Ukrainian civilians, but also on all international efforts — on the very diplomacy we are trying to use to end this war. Russia is striking at the positions of everyone who wants to end this war. It is impossible to ignore hundreds of Shaheds every night. We expect a response. We are working toward a response. US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker on oil sanctions on Russia: We have implemented those sanctions. We plan to enforce them. We expect now, with these enormous sanctions, that this will maybe be the thing to unlock president Putin coming to the table and ending this war, and at least entering into a ceasefire so we can negotiate a final resolution. Iranian “shaheds” enhanced by Russia hit a church in Lviv – this is utterly perverse, and only the likes of Putin could take pleasure in it. In Ivano-Frankivsk, a maternity hospital was damaged. The scale of today’s attack strongly indicates that Russia has no intention of really ending this war. If we take into account that Russia is also helping the Iranian regime to carry out strikes across the region, the conclusion becomes self-evident: without additional and strong pressure on Russia, without significant Russian losses, those in Moscow will not develop any desire to back down from the war and somehow come to terms with peace again. Pressure is clearly lacking right now. On the contrary, there are signals encouraging Russia to continue what they have been doing for years, only increasing their aggressiveness. The fact that sanctions against Russia have been partially eased serves Russia’s interest to continue the war. The Russians will earn at least two billion dollars from the easing of sanctions in these weeks alone. This is dangerous for everyone.

Even Hamas shows deal-making acumen, but not Putin. For now. Together with our partners, we are creating the conditions to compel Russia to peace. And it will happen. We greatly appreciate the steps taken by each country in response to Russia for this war. And now there is one more important decision by the United States – sanctions against two large Russian oil companies. Pressure on Russian oil is an instrument to end the war, I'm sure. And all Russian oil companies – including Rosneft, Lukoil, Putin’s own oil company Surgutneftegas, and others – must be blocked. Their access to the world market must be cut off – this will bring Putin back to reality and greatly limit the Russian war machine’s money. And I thank President Trump for this path of pressure, and I thank the countries that are already taking these steps. And I called on all participants of our Coalition of the Willing to join these steps. Thank you to everyone who is helping!

We are now preparing for new diplomatic steps together with our partners in Europe and, importantly, in the United States. In fact, we are in contact almost daily with everyone who can make diplomacy meaningful. As of now, there is no clear information about what exactly the Russians plan to bring to Istanbul. We don’t have it, Türkiye doesn’t have it, and neither do the United States or other partners. And at this point, it looks far from serious. We discussed this yesterday with President Erdoğan. Of course, everyone in the world wants diplomacy to work and for an actual ceasefire to take place. Everyone wants Russia to stop playing games with diplomacy and end the war. Everyone wants a serious peace – and Russia must agree to that. That should be the agenda of the meetings. We have already presented our agenda. And we hope the American side will be decisive on the issue of sanctions – to help bring peace closer.

That is why it is so important to have strong responses to every challenge. Russia must come to believe that America, Europe, and the West as a whole will not allow Russia to wage war. Russia isn't defeating Ukraine on the battlefield. Three vulnerability points that Russia sees in Ukraine within the war: ◾️Europe and the United States: decrease Allies' aid to Ukraine as much as possible (weapons and money), avoid new sanctions from the United States, block any decisions regarding the frozen Russian assets. ◾️Ukraine's internal political situation: disrupt the stability of power. ◾️The frontline which would be negatively affected by the previous two points.
