Except digital ID will be required for everything in the long run. To buy food for example. It will be a form of social credit and will be used to withhold whatever is necessary to make you're behaviour conform to what the government expects. The Irish government version of this will be a digital "wallet". All these "smart" devices and "wallets" like Google wallet etc are named in a manner that makes them sound convenient for you. Helpful to you. They will entrap you in a digital prison where privileges will only be afforded to those who comply.
