There’s an econ problem and a trust problem. When a president finally addresses affordability and insists “It's gone away, prices are falling” while your rent and groceries say otherwise, the message you hear is: you’re wrong, or invisible, or you're being ignored. That’s rocket fuel for anger.

The midterms are coming, and the President is going to own two issues whether he likes it or not: affordability and healthcare. They’re connected, and together they will dominate the entire narrative, because when people can’t afford rent, groceries, insurance, or prescriptions, nothing else matters. Yes, the administration can brag about the market, and they should. The S&P 500 is near all-time highs across all sectors, that’s a real win. But markets don’t vote, people do, and if affordability and healthcare aren’t fixed, that’s where the damage will be done.
