The lady who called out the Lagos State Government to provide more buses has now been challenged by other passengers, who ordered her to stop making those videos and stop calling out the government, saying it’s the same situation everywhere. The lady had earlier called out the Lagos State Government to provide more buses for people going to work, explaining that no matter how early she wakes up, she still has to queue for up to 2 hours. Today, some passengers confronted her and told her to stop calling out the government because the situation is the same everywhere. However, the lady insisted that as long as she has to stand in a queue for more than 5 minutes, she will keep calling out the government every day and no one can stop her.

I have seen several videos of Ella where she was constantly ranting about nonavailability of BRT buses to commute people to their various destinations. People wait on a very long queue for as long as one to two or three hours waiting for buses to come. I wonder what kind of a society is so much comfortable with wastage of valuable economic hours at the bus stop, just standing! Do we even understand anything about the value of time in monetary terms. Perhaps Nigerians will learn to value time more if people are getting paid on hourly rates. The eye sore for me was yesterday when Ella who is now otherwise known in the social media space as "BRT lady" was almost beaten up by the same set of people she was speaking up for. A particular lady said "Ella should tell her father to buy buses and put on the road". Imagine that! Sometimes, I wonder if some people have been cursed with suffering and poverty because I'll never understand why some persons can be so antagonistic against someone else who is requesting for a better life. Some other morons online were saying stuffs like "must she use BRT", "why can't she "enter a danfo or korope", "she will soon get tired", "she should go back to her state in the southeast. Ṣé ìṣẹ́ bá àwọn kan mu'lẹ̀ ni? 🤷🤷 Today now, there were many BRT buses on the queue waiting for people to board. My question is "where were all these buses before now"? A government that waits until someone speaks up before providing the basics is an irresponsible government, and so also, a group of people who gang up to shut down someone who is speaking up for something that will benefit everyone is a group of imbeciles and morons. In a sane clime, buses have a time schedule and they move round the clock. Even if there was no one at the bus stop, a bus leaves that bus stop at the time it is meant to leave. It's abnormal for a huge number of people to be waiting for hours at the bus stop and they were all comfortable doing it. Kudos to Ella for making her voice heard. An average person in our society doesn't know the quality of life he/she deserve and that is why those in position of authority will keep treating the poor masses like trash. If you don't know what you deserve, how do you demand for more? It is the ignorance of the ignorants that keeps sustaining a mediocre ecosystem. Bro and sis, please do all you can to escape from the crowd.

This father had to go in the street to stop cars from passing a STOPPED school bus with extended stop signs so his daughter could get off the bus! Sad that people have to do this to get people to stop. Sometimes the law can vary by states but it is pretty standard. Seems more and more people aren’t paying attention or simply do not know the law when it comes to stopping for school buses. A few seconds or maybe a minute is worth it to keep our children safe. Do you know the law in your state when it comes to stopping for school buses at a stop with their stop signs extended ?

I don’t think people fully appreciate just how hopelessly arrogant and insensitive the APC has been. The Lagos State Government increased the cost of BRT fares by 15% in the middle of an energy crisis that was already squeezing household incomes from every direction. If a state like Lagos, with its enormous revenue base and with more resources available to it following the removal of the petrol subsidy, cannot absorb some cost of running public transportation, procure new buses, or at the very least cap fares on fewer than 500 buses, then what exactly is government for?

Update: LAMATA provided atleast 15-25 BRT buses for Elepe commuters this Thursday morning. The lady who harrased Ella has been removed. Ella got funds for bolt rides from diaspora. As at 7:30am there was no queue, but there were exactly 7 extra buses down. Few area boys, LNSC officers, LAMATA monitoring team and patriotic Nigerians were present. We can’t confirm if Ella used the BRT today. A Nigerian group in diaspora led by DJ Obi and Keniye Koroye raised an undisclosed sum for her to cover transportation to work via bolt for the meantime, as they perceived probable risk at the brt station. They weren’t wrong. While live at Elepe, the conversation between the area boys and patriots was, Ella was planted to lead people to burn BRT buses.
