Progress so far: - The AGILE project is being implemented in 21 states under the Federal Ministry of Education to improve access to quality education for adolescent girls. - The initiative has impacted over 7.19 million beneficiaries through investments in education and school infrastructure. - More than 5,000 classrooms have been constructed, with an additional 441 classrooms scheduled for completion by September under the Additional Financing Programme. - The project is investing in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) facilities to ensure girls have access to clean water and hygienic environments, particularly during menstruation, helping to improve school attendance and retention. - AGILE is bringing schools closer to communities by constructing junior and senior secondary schools where they are lacking, making it easier for girls to transition between education levels. - The initiative is also helping to reduce early marriage, school dropouts, insecurity, and other social challenges by expanding access to secondary education for the girl child.
