Third World problems in a First World country. This is Vancouver Washington and is the result of radicalized progressive policies run amok. ghost Tara Faul and I were shocked/not shocked just how bad some areas were. This was created though by design.

The mayor has allowed a lawless encampment zone that doesn’t require street permits. It’s right next to one of the major homeless nonprofits.

What’s interesting is just two weeks ago the Mayor blamed their Homeless problem on other cities yet her government is the one that’s allowing these encampments

As with most cities, there’s a lot of drugs and a lot of mental illness. The difference here is the extremely low confidence the Homeless have in the area NGOs. Many Homeless we met told us they’re only homeless because they hate the nonprofits and refuse to

work with them. We asked several how they would rank the nonprofits and many said zero which we will post soon. The few days we were there staff were outside sitting around, apparently waiting for people to approach them. I approached them and they were standoffish

and not interested in having any kind of conversation. Another outreach team showed up in which we said good morning to and they also rudely ignored us and others. It was then we realized the Homeless were absolutely correct. Homeless providers in Vancouver need

some serious training and an attitude adjustment. Many of the Homeless we met were very kind hearted and were still holding out hope. One homeless woman wished somebody would offer her an opportunity to work. She wants to feel responsible and have a sense of purpose.

Unfortunately, though radicalized progressive policies enable a person to the point of dependency, and there’s no place for self-sufficiency for a dependent.

@tarafaul503 Thanks for giving this some visibility. Vancouver is regrettably flirting with some of the policies that have proven so disasterous for Portland.

@tarafaul503 This looks like the area near the Vancouver Amtrak station. There are many tents on the sidewalks on W 11th St around the BNSF yard. Some are even in front of homes. Not surprised that the city seems to be OK with this, unfortunately.

@tarafaul503 I've been to several 3rd Wolrd Countries and they don't have all of the druggies and degeneracy. They have poor people and shanty towns but not this.
