some advice for designing tools in the age of ai: 1. embrace ambiguity — ai tools work best when you're comfortable with not having full control. leave room for emergence and surprise. 2. focus on the human-ai collaboration model — design the interaction patterns, not just the outputs. what's the back-and-forth like? how do humans guide the ai? 3. design for iteration, not perfection — ai outputs are rarely perfect the first time. design systems that make refinement natural and easy. 4. think in systems, not features — ai changes fast, so build adaptable foundations rather than specific implementations that will break. 5. protect against the uncanny valley — either make it obviously ai-generated or indistinguishable from human work. the middle ground feels weird. 6. consider the invisible costs — ai has computational, environmental, and social costs that aren't immediately visible but matter. 7. design for augmentation, not replacement — the best ai tools make humans more capable rather than trying to replace them. 8. build in feedback loops — systems that learn from user interactions get better over time. the thing is, we're all figuring this out together. the design patterns for ai are still being invented. it's like the early web days — exciting, messy, and full of possibilities.

Today, Box is announcing major new AI agent capabilities to let customers tap into the full value of their unstructured data. First, we’re announcing all new updates to the Box AI Studio to make it even easier to build AI agents that tap into your enterprise content for any job function, business process, or industry specific use case. We are also expanding our set of foundational agents that customers will be able to use to work with their enterprise content, including new features like search and research on unstructured data. Next, we’re announcing Box Extract to enable customers to use AI agents seamlessly for complex data extraction from any type of document or content. Finally, we’re introducing Box Automate, a new workflow automation solution within Box that lets you deploy AI agents across enterprise content-centric workflows. We live in the solo founder era. That's for sure and building with AI has accelerated. I am building software to use for myself and replace the expensive tools I used to use. And partially thanks to AI we can build faster, but not dramatically faster if you want to build a commercial grade product. Before I was using a live chat and customer support tool that costed around 50-100$ a month. This helped me to interact with the customers of my agency or prospects. But I decided a few months ago to build my own and stop paying for these more expensive solutions. I did and turned into a product for everyone to use. The build was not 1-2 hours of work using AI, but it was a several-month process on and off as I needed it. Finally, it has turned into a commercial grade product. I have built several of these and this is when we will see more and more solutions like these. Let's start bootstrapping before showing MRR figures.
