I know a lot of you have been waiting for my response regarding the promised crypto donations to Arctic Fox Daily… I’m still admittedly very naïve to this entire world, but, I’m learning that this space tends to move very fast. I’ve been trying my best to balance my busiest time of year for wildlife rehab with taking the time to properly process and decide how to respond to all of this. Especially because I’m honestly starting to feel like - because of the little fox who became the face behind everything - this may actually have the potential to turn into something very unique and positive within this niche space. So, apologies that it took me a few days to finally sit down and film the detailed and transparent response that I felt this deserved! Here it is. 🦊🍏 #applethefox

Sometimes I sit and cry because I’m finally allowing myself to dress and express myself the way I’ve always wanted to. For so long, I listened to people tell me what wasn’t “for me.” I was told that, as a Black girl, bright colors weren’t my thing. That I should tone it down, be less colorful, less playful, less… me. I hope my younger self is proud because we’re finally doing the things we’ve always loved instead of the things other people expected from us.

Sometimes I sit and cry because I’m finally allowing myself to dress and express myself the way I’ve always wanted to. I guess I can’t cry now… They always traveled long distances back and forth for years, taking me and picking me up, and they worried about me so much. But they trusted me and said, 'Just do what you want! If it’s what you want, then do it!' They just believed in me and pushed me forward, and I think I’ve always been grateful for that. Without that, would I have been able to meet NSWER? I’ve been thinking about that more these days, so I’m really thankful. Mom always says, 'You have so much love in you, what are you going to do?' When I lived in Yangsan, I wasn’t such a kid who cried this much, but after I came to Seoul, I started crying so much. I think that worried her a bit. Mom! I’m really happy. I’m so happy… I’m so happy that it overflows, so that’s why the tears keep coming. I’m so thankful that I got to meet NSWER. Yeah, maybe the format was a set back in the past, but at the same time there’s a lot of positives to it as well. And one of the things that a lot of players kept mentioning is you don’t have a wave weather difference, where you can simply get unlucky and you’re out of contention for that tournament. It’s part of the game, I get it, but it’s something you don’t have to deal with anymore. So that part is a very nice aspect. The team is what really made it for me. Being able to be part of a team, represent a team, play for my teammates, with my teammates and against my teammates, is something that to me that has always been very, very special. When you get a victory to share, it’s always better to have a team to share it with. So it’s what was the most attractive part and when we started discussions it gets to a point where even though I’m ambitious, I’m not greedy. So there’s a give and take and the format is something that I can easily overlook, and I’m pretty sure I can learn to enjoy it, I’ll just have to get used to it, but I’m pretty sure I’ll learn to enjoy it. To be honest, the more I started thinking about it, the more I started thinking about my college days that were 3 day tournaments, 54 holes, and everybody warmed up together for the most part. hanbin was asked to compliment the members 🥹 🐹 as for taerae, he’s very cute nowadays! how should i put this... i can feel that he practices so much even when i’m not around to see it. isn’t it so admirable, how he does it both for himself and the team? 🐹 ah, have i said this before? when we were practicing for v for vision, i noticed something and thought about how i should mention it to him tomorrow. then the next day came, but when we actually did it, the thing i noticed was gone, so i was like huh... i asked him, “taerae-yah, when did you fix that?” and he told me, “i was monitoring it yesterday when i felt like i was doing it differently from the hyungs, so i fixed it!” so i was like, wow... what’s this!

I’m probably one of the strongest people you could ever run up on, and I look how I look, but when it came down to setting up on that block and then pitching and getting it off down there, yeah, I was the best at that.
