This is despite the UK government press release from midday saying: "British holidaymakers will be able to use more eGates in Europe, ending the dreaded queues at border control."

I don't think so - member states have no particular interest in delaying tourists and businesses bringing money to their economy Needs checking, but I think that the reason we couldn't use them was because it's an EU system and in the original Brexit agreement the UK said 🙅🏻
