This 2019 Model 3 RWD owned by Eric @ Drive Protected ™ still had the ORIGINAL battery and rear motor after 381,000 miles (613,000 km). Even after all those miles, the battery retained 70% capacity. He decided to bring new life to the car by swapping the original NCA pack for a modern LFP pack from a newer Model 3. The original pack was still perfectly functional, the swap was just for performance. Swapping a battery in a Tesla is much quicker than people think. In just a few hours, the orginal battery was removed then replaced with a LFP pack. Once configured via the computer, the car is perfectly functional. There’s no huge mess, not a lot of wires, it’s actually very simple once you are experienced with it. His Model 3 now functions and charges like a newer car. Tesla vehicles are designed from the ground up to be very serviceable.
