This exercise straightens our postures like no other. T3 Raises will pull your shoulder blades down naturally and give your upper back some much-needed support. I've never met somebody with pain or posture problems who could easily lift a weight above the ear. 🎯Twice a week Form: - One... show more

“Slide your shoulder blade toward your spine” before lifting , will lock the shoulder blade and loss range of motion. It's better to keep it neutral position, so the interior angle moves away from spine and superior angle moves toward spine during lifting.

When was the last baseball game that you saw the shortstop make a play in the hole and then pull his shoulder blade back to throw to first?

Any benefit to doing unilateral like that vs chest supported with two dumbbells simultaneously? I’ve only seen/tried the latter (from knees over toes guy)

I prefer the unilateral to teach at first but then will cycle different variations.

Can confirm. 😎

Damn. This is hard for me to do without any weight… looks like I got to start mixing this one in on the regular

Any clients with mild scoliosis who got benefits or perhaps issues with this exercise?

Might be more accurate to say lift your arm to line up with your spine. Lifting beyond the plane of the spine is risky for the shoulder joint.

Does this activate the traps at all? I am struggling with over activation of my trap on the left side from a previous neck surgery and then 3 years later I had a partial shoulder replacement. I am having issues trying to get my shoulder blade down.

The upper traps are often over active because the lower traps are too weak. This exercise targets the lower traps pulling shoulder blades down. Sometimes it can take a few weeks or even months before you can undo the imbalance.
