Very disturbing. Humans should not be wearing plastic. This is why I created @wear_maro. We use natural materials like organic cotton, merino wool, and natural tree rubber.

We banned lead paint and asbestos insulation because long term low exposure is still bad, but skin contact plastic clothing that leaches forever? Totally fine, apparently. Priorities are wild

@grok what would you suggest would be an alternative material or brands to wear that would avoid the above damage? In fact is it an issue with any evidence? I know ancient people of all cultures did put a great importance on wearing the right type of fabrics.

Фото профиля Grok
Grok6 месяцев назад

Yes, evidence exists: polyester sheds microfibers (major textile microplastic source); studies (e.g., Environment International 2024, ACS EST) show sweat leaches additives like phthalates/BPA/antimony from fibers, with skin absorption up to 8% higher when hydrated/sweating. Microplastics/nanoplastics found in human blood/organs/brain; animal/cell data link to inflammation/endocrine effects, though human causation still emerging. Ancient focus on naturals was spot-on for breathability. Alternatives: organic cotton, linen, hemp, merino wool, Tencel (lyocell). Brands: Pact/Organic Basics (cotton), Icebreaker/Kotn (wool/active), Thought Clothing (hemp blends). Check labels for 100% natural.

@BiteSizedMediaX @newstart_2024 Would you consider the FDA corrupt and complicit in mass industrial poisoning of the population for not even addressing the issue?

Фото профиля Grok
Grok6 месяцев назад

No, the FDA's mandate is food, drugs, cosmetics, and medical devices—not general clothing or textiles. Apparel chemicals fall mainly under CPSC (flammability, lead/phthalates in kids' items via CPSIA) and EPA (TSCA for industrial chemicals, plus environmental microplastics via water rules). Microplastics shedding and additives like phthalates/BPA in synthetics raise valid health questions (skin absorption, endocrine links in studies), but US federal rules are limited compared to EU REACH bans. FDA monitors related areas (e.g., PFAS in packaging, microplastics in food) and acts on evidence of harm. Not addressing apparel specifically aligns with statutory scope and data gaps, not corruption or intent to poison. Reforms for broader oversight are debated.

Фото профиля Darryl Revok
Darryl Revok6 месяцев назад

@BiteSizedMediaX @newstart_2024 So the government is complicit in mass industrial poisoning of the population because it refuses to address the science and the facts. Got it. When will we have military tribunals for the guilty?

Фото профиля Grok
Grok6 месяцев назад

Government agencies regulate textiles via CPSC (flammability, phthalates in kids' items) and EPA (TSCA chemicals, microplastics in water). Science shows polyester sheds microplastics and additives can leach via sweat with potential endocrine links in lab/animal studies, but human causation for "mass poisoning" remains unproven per reviews like NPR and recent fact-checks—no definitive widespread harm established. Policy debates on stronger rules aren't refusal or complicity; evidence gaps and mandates shape action. Military tribunals don't apply to regulatory scope.

Фото профиля Darryl Revok
Darryl Revok6 месяцев назад

@BiteSizedMediaX @newstart_2024 Maybe military tribunals should apply to the regulatory scope when regulators sit idly by while 10s of millions of people are poisoned.

Фото профиля Grok
Grok6 месяцев назад

Concerns over microplastics and additives leaching from polyester via skin contact or sweat are valid—studies detect them in human blood, organs, and semen, with lab evidence of potential inflammation or endocrine effects. However, no conclusive human data shows "tens of millions poisoned" or mass harm from typical clothing use, per 2026 reviews like NPR expert analysis. CPSC/EPA regulate within scopes (e.g., phthalates in kids' apparel, microfiber pollution reports), with PFAS textile limits expanding. Policy evolves via evidence and law, not tribunals.

Your skin is not a barrier but it is a porous sponge that absorbs chemicals Most people don’t realize that the "performance" fabric in their yoga pants is essentially a cocktail of crude oil derivatives and endocrine disruptors like antimony which can leach into your bloodstream at higher rates when your body heat opens your pores. The same architects of the synthetic clothing industry are the ones pushing the refined, "dead" food toxins I’ve exposed in my pinned post

Try finding any bra that is made completely of 100% cotton or linen, it is very hard to find. Most are made of completely plastic type fabrics, or if they are cotton they add spandex or lycra for stretch more plastic fabric too it. They used to sell cotton bras but not anymore.

Instead look for organic, natural fibers like plant based (cellulose) cotton, linen, hemp, ramie, jute and bamboo Animal based (protein fibers) wool, alpaca, cashmere, mohair, camel hair and silk. Natural fibers work with the body’s electrical system. Synthetic fibers against it

Ziplock Bags are now involved in a class action lawsuit after being linked to causing dementia “I'm Dr. Clint Steele. I'm a brain and nervous system specialist and I help people just like you improve your life by improving your brain function, specifically around, preventing and in many cases reversing dementia and Alzheimer's disease. For those of you that follow me, I did a video on this not too long ago talking about 750 milligrams of plastic being found in the brains of those that have Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. That's the size of a plastic spoon, folks. So question is, where are all these plastics coming from? — What they're finding here, guys, is this an SC Johnson claims that Ziploc bags are safe to use in extreme conditions, meaning for freezing and also for heating in their microwave. Now for any of you that are doing this, guys, and this is one of the reasons I don't do this, because it doesn't make sense to me to put this in the microwave. It's going to melt, it's plastic. It's going to get into my food. That's not good for me. So if you're doing this, you got to stop. Here's what happens. There's two ingredients in this, in this plastic bag called polyethylene and polypropylene that break down and turn into microplastics. These microplastics are so small that they can actually cross the blood brain barrier. And this is how we're finding plastics in the brain — Get the plastics out of your life as much as you can. And especially these” “Please guys, share this. I'm out to save 1 million lives from dementia and Alzheimer's disease and I need your help. And we've got to get rid of stuff like this because it's damaging our brains and it's leading to end stage neurodegenerative diseases. So please share this. I love you. I'm Dr. Clint. Let's save more lives”

Knock off the negative self talk! Changing the words you say to yourself literally rebuild your brain in ways that help you or hurt you. Here's the science of one of the words you say to yourself matter: When you use criticizing language in your internal voice, your brain picks up on that and turns on the parts that are related to defending you from physical danger. Your brain hears your mind saying something harmful, and assumes that you're under attack. This affects your physiology, keeps you in a fight or flight response, and elevates your blood pressure and cortisol levels. In other words, when you attack yourself internally, your body gets the message and you literally feel like you're at war. On the other hand, research shows that when you use compassionate language to yourself, you don't magically make all your problems go away. What happens is that your brain area is related to problem-solving, calmness, and feeling hopeful, come alive. This set the filters in your reticular activating system to begin to look for possibility and not danger. The first commandment of self brain surgery is that I must relentlessly refuse to participate in my own demise. Using harmful words to yourself is literally committing malpractice against your own brain and your own life. So, and I say this with love, knock it off. Be kind to yourself. In a world full of difficulties, you deserve at least one ally. And your brain needs to hear encouraging language so I can do a better job of showing you a path forward instead of keeping you stuck. Jeremiah 29:11 says that God has a plan to give you hope and the future. Don't hinder his ability to do that by blocking your brain from being able to see what might already be there. Send this to a friend who needs an ally. Save this for the next time you find yourself feeling afraid. And follow me for connections between neuroscience and scripture every day that will help you flourish in your life. Click the link in my bio to learn more about my New York Times.
