This is from a youtube channel pilot yellow. The guy with the helmet is a pilot trainer and the other guy is a student, it is a simulated engine failure training to show the student how to work through engine failure. Really cool channel. He flies in Canada over some stunning landscapes

I remember a flight instructor telling me that the best time/place to lose engine power is at max altitude, then you have plenty of time to choose where to land. It's when you have no time or space to react that you get killed.

If the pilot is wearing a helmet, bet your ass I’m wearing a helmet

For those who do not know how this works - it’s autorotation. After 1000 feet a helicopter that loses power can disengage the transmission and let the force of gravity spin the blades on decent to give lift that assists in landing. This pilot gave a master class on that process! 👏🙌

I've never encountered a situation where panic improves the outcome.

Landed like a pro, but I hope they’re in a place that rescue can get to them quickly. Looks cold wherever it is.

Wow... His calmness is beautiful to watch. Panic always leads to more errors in such situations. 🙏🏾🤭💪🏾
