This is a big leap forward to doing real data analysis with GPT-4o. It still can't quite handle the way many people use spreadsheets (Excel formulas, etc.) but it is pretty impressive. You can zoom into spreadsheets and ask about cells, modify graphs, etc. I trimmed 45 seconds.

Everyone has access to this through GPT-4o. Just upload a CSV file and it works.

It needs to work with formulas, and also get a little bit smarter about how badly most people use spreadsheets (multiple header rows, multiple tables on a sheet, etc.)

This seems like an improvement except that people don't want to read a few paragraphs for every answer. They need to teach the model how to be more concise in its output and only provide more details as an option.

Once they get it right perhaps we'll see a white collar job apocalypse

ask it to show you the code it used to generate the responses... it will surprise you. There's a replit in the machine.

Data analysis with AI gets interessting when you ingest several data sources without thinking about a potential tedious import procedure and analyse with any question you might have. Looking thru one spreadsheet is not impressive.

This is the gateway for the layman in a white collar job.

Even though it is not giving top level results yet it will be quite useful where you only have to work with spreadsheets and you want to save some of your time.
