You're absolutely right. I also think it's to do with the fact that almost all Moroccan players didn’t learn to play football in Africa. Most of their football development has been in the Netherlands, Spain, France and some in Germany. Ivory Coast and Senegal are not far behind though.

Bro football is cruel.. If you don't take your chances, you'll end up losing. You have to analyze the game based on stats, and stop questioning the players mentality because they are Africans. They put their hearts out there, they coach has to take some of the blames aswel

This conversation isn’t just about Ivory Coast, I only used the Ivorian game to buttress a point.

To be honest Ivory Coast is bigger team than Norway and should beat them no excuses. Immediately they scored they decided to play defensive game

This and subpar management. This game was screaming for an Amad Dialo start but I have no idea what that foolish coach kept him on the bench for.

They tried to use the same mental tactics on Mexico . Quinones said nope !! Just cause there are more European players don’t mean they’re better

I think Africans have been deeply affected by colonialism and slavery . A white man kills for what he wants but a black man dies for it. That’s the problem. God help us.

Its not mentality the players are not comfortable on the ball, anytime they are on the ball it looks like they are going to lose it immediately

Good point. I look at Morocco 🇲🇦 and to be honest they play with no fear at all. They genuinely believe that they could go toe to toe with any team and you can see it in their performances. But for ex. Look at Ivory Coast 🇨🇮 its their mentality that cost them that game

This is typical of ivory coast they only good when playing Nigeria. that's is why i don't rate them yaya, kolo, drobgba, zakora are only good in club football when it come to national team especially world cup they ghost, bunch of average players

African teams need to get rid of the imposter syndrome and believe they belong on the greatest stage of football or whatever sport we play. Until you see truly as your peers, you can't win when the stakes are high. Same thing keeps happening to Japan.

Bro you are right, it's all about d mentality of the players. Just check French national team all made of Africa dissent. They all have different mentality that's why they are doing well. It also transcend to club levels in Africa. That's why North Africa clubs will dominate

As far back as 1990, Cameroon had England on the ropes but somehow found a way to lose. In 1994, Nigeria played arguably the greatest football ever by an African team at the World Cup and made Italy look ordinary, yet still lost. I can't explain it. It's in our DNA.

The mentality is the problem, it seems like getting to the knockout stages in the World Cup is just okay for most countries except South Africa who only like playing the groups stages after 10years and go back to their country to save their Jabs.

It’s psychological It’s a pattern Nigeria Super Eagles suffers from it even within the continent hence why we missed out on two world cups, I will bet you that the super eagles with the talents we have will get to the next afcon finals and lose it

I think it's more of a belief than talents. With them as co-host for the next World Cup, I think they have all it takes to get to the final or probably with it.
