@Tesla Old Model Y also has in-cabin radar (perhaps less capable than new one). I wonder if they’ll enable any functions for old Model Ys.

No gear stalk? No problem. Brilliant implementation of the new Tesla Auto Shift, added for free in the Holiday Update and FSD v13.2.2. The system recognizes your intentions based on the positioning/angle of the car and its surroundings. If you then tap the brake and turn the steering wheel the way the car thinks you should, the system will automatically shift between reverse and drive appropriately. Multi point turns can now be performed quicker than with a gear stalk! Incredible work by the Tesla_AI team!

Here’s my overview of the North American version of the Model Y L. Overall, it's an awesome vehicle that I think will appeal to a lot of families in the U.S. The third row space will surprise you, the second row is the most comfortable that Tesla has ever offered, it has some premium features that even the 6-seat Model X didn't even offer, and the sound system is the best of any Model Y. It is very well built. Deliveries start in September.

In the situations where we experienced the system, it worked perfectly and safely. I hadn't expected that. Even in the bad weather conditions in the Eifel region. Permit TABS2025022006 explicitly lists a cleaning robot in the scope of work alongside Superchargers and an Equipment Inspection System. Tesla teased the automated cleaning system last year. It is now permitted and built. The hub completed construction in March 2026.

As expected, Tesla’s Model Y ride-hailing service in the Bay Area currently has a safety driver in the driver’s seat, which is why Tesla is calling it a ride-hailing service rather than a Robotaxi service. It is still a paid service though and is likely using the same software as the Austin Robotaxis. Once Tesla receives the required permit, they will remove the safety driver and instead have a safety monitor in the passenger seat like they do in Austin. That could happen within the next 1–2 months, according to Elon.
