A transformer functions under the law of energy conservation, which states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed, only transformed. Therefore, a transformer does not make electricity, it merely changes the voltage to suit the needs of the user. Transformers accomplish this change in voltage through the process of electromagnetic induction.

Hm... still can't understand well... I will be just satisfied with this for now. 😂

When a transformer is working: a primary potential difference drives an alternating current through the primary coil. the primary coil current produces a magnetic field, which changes as the current changes. the iron core increases the strength of the magnetic field.

In the simplest terms, a transformer is a device that changes the voltage of electricity. It can either increase it (step up) or decrease it (step down) keeping the frequency (50Hz or 60Hz) constant. This is super useful because different devices need different voltages to work properly. Think of it like a translator for electricity.

As long as I get electricity, I don’t care how it works lol
