It’s now snowing in #Boston, and Winter Storm #Fern is getting to work ❄️ This remains a high-impact storm for the city and surrounding communities, with 18–24 inches of snow still expected across much of the metro area. It’s bitterly cold, and the snow is light and fluffy, which means it piles up quickly and reduces visibility fast. Boston is already responding in force. A conga line of snow plows is rolling through neighborhoods, nearly 900 crews are deployed clearing city streets, and the city has 40,000 tons of salt on hand for this storm and whatever winter throws next. HOLY CRAP!! A Spanish friend just sent me this. This the Pakistani consulate in Barcelona, Spain, on a random Saturday at 10:00 PM. Dozens of illegal immigrants still waiting for their appointment at the Pakistan consulate to request their criminal record and be able to get papers in Spain. No women at line, the consulate working overtime so their citizens can invade Europe. People from places we can’t even name will become soon citizens, people from mental institutions, from prisons, rapists. All of them will be able to move freely around Europe. THIS IS INSANE!!!

❄️ By definition this will be a Bomb cyclone, and it now looks to become a paralyzing coastal #blizzard for New England, Long Island, and perhaps coastal New Jersey and New York City. Many will receive over a foot of snow Sunday into Monday. Coastal gusts in SE New England may reach #hurricane force 75mph+. This is the latest Hi-Res GRAF (IBM) available as of 4pm Friday. In my opinion it’s likely too far north and west with the heaviest snow, so take snow totals N/W of NYC with a grain of salt, for now, until we get closer to the storm. Still coastal locations in Long Island and SE New England will likely see 1-2 feet! One more note: I love snow, so for me, no snow is too much despite what the legend says :) ❄️ #snow #storm Tri-State Weather Adam tocksin

River Lampreys (Lampetra fluviatilis) at Annacotty Weir on the River Mulkear, Co. Limerick, last night. These lampreys are on their upstream spawning migration, but they can't get past this barrier. They try repeatedly on suitable nights to find a way over this obstacle, and this continues for months. They won't spawn until next spring. The River Mulkear is designated as a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) for this species, yet this weir blocks access for lampreys to 98% of the catchment. Annacotty Weir serves no purpose. It is an ornamental structure—a legacy of a damaging flood scheme. The easiest way to rewild and restore our rivers is by removing barriers to fish migration.

2020 COLLECTION: 5 YEARS LATER - DAY3 OOF. at this point it was pretty clear Duncan and Griffin at NiftyGateway that one person was winning every single auction. There were still 10 more to go on this Sunday... At the very last second of the final auction, a extremely last second bid cam in taking the total from about $350k to $777k, destroying the record for the most expensive NFT ever bought. you can see the disbelief in the video as we were sure the auction was over. but our boi tim.eth ⁙ illestrater came through at the last second clinching single W against the insane performance that Metakovan had built over the last two days winning every other auction. i was fully a pile of mush at this point, trying to wrap my head around how I had just sold $3.5M worth of this 'thing' that almost nobody I knew understood and I had only learned of less than 2 months earlier. but the real people who made this event possible are Metakovan and tim.eth ⁙ illestrater and i really don't think they get enough credit for the insane belief and conviction this took. their actions over this weekend literally changed the course of art history. little did i know that as fucking INSANE as this was... it was actually just the beginning. 😅

So let me get this straight… Julie says she showed up at 34 Fairview around 8:00–8:30 AM, hung around for 30–45 minutes, just sitting in the kitchen of the house where a man supposedly died in the yard during a blizzard.Meanwhile… Her husband Chris says he woke up around 8:00–8:30 AM, totally on his own, like a Disney prince stretching in the sunshine, in the middle of a nor’easter, mind you.
