This is Mohamed Nasheed mocking & ridiculing former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s age, throwing in disgusting verbal sexual harassment, and ridiculing him for taking medicines after Solih had thyroid surgery! Thinking that this will get him votes from Maldivians - Is this the kind of man you want to...

Yes - I do agree with Hassan Kurusee, former President Mohamed Nasheed is indeed a brilliant systems architect, a visionary, & a leader who GENUINELY loves freedom. He connects with ordinary Maldivians like very few can. That’s why many of us once supported him strongly. That’s why I once loved this leader with all my heart. But even with all this, Mohamed Nasheed has SERIOUS, DEEP, flaws that makes him unsuitable for a political leader & a president. 1. FIRST & MOST SERIOUS: Mohamed Nasheed has uncontrollable anger issues. When he gets triggered, he completely loses restraint, completely loses control & makes impulsive decisions that destroy everything around him. Many close to his personal life would agree. The clearest example for us is how he managed the Feb 7, 2012 disaster and how MDP Secretariat gov ended on that day. It was absolutely wrong for the top generals & security officers at that time to betray a sitting president and they must face consequences for that treachery. BUT instead of calmly/wisely using the real power Mohamed Nasheed had as the President of Maldives (power over the majority of the army, police plus the entire gov) he LOST HIS TEMPER COMPLETELY. He started yelling, shouting, moving around frantically, and acting with ZERO CONTROL as we see in this video This crazy emotional outburst allowed the Feb 7 coup leader to penetrate into the security forces and establish their control and allowed the situation to escalate quickly and spiral out of hand. That dangerous day Mohamed Nasheed’s rage clouded his judgment when strategic, presidential leadership was needed most for the country. He probably regrets it even if he doesn’t admit it now. 2. SECOND, Mohamed Nasheed strongly believes he is the only person with the ONE & ONLY right vision for Maldives & the only person capable of leading Maldives. He strongly refuses to accept that other talented leaders (even young MDP ppl) can also be visionary and can lead Maldives. And this arrogance of Mohamed Nasheed has caused him to sideline & overshadow everyone else that tries to compete him in leadership. —- These two terrible and fatal flaws of Mohamed Nasheed MN unofficial is why I am unable to support him neither as a party leader at any level or even a president or for any leadership role. And these flaws and problems of Mohamed Nasheed explain why he split MDP Secretariat after losing the 2023 primaries, formed TheDemocrats, and later tried to destroy MDP Secretariat . However, LET ME BE CLEAR: If Mohamed Nasheed MN unofficial would ever truly overcome his uncontrollable anger & massive ego, me & many young / old people would support him again. However, given his repeated history, I don’t see this happening anytime soon. I hope it does though. And I believe Mohamed Nasheed’s situation is a very real loss for Maldives.

Dear Sikka Team That was a great decision to form a DEMOCRATS and to campaign for IBU NOON GOTHE. The Democratic Party was formed, and “Ibu Noon Gothe” emerged because of your team’s efforts. They succeeded in establishing that movement. In politics, there comes a time to make bold decisions, such decisions may lead to great achievements or may not succeed at all, that is the nature of politics. Everyone knows how Ibrahim Mohamed Solih came to power. After the #mvcoupe all MDP members and many Dhivehin wanted to establish again an MDP government. The 2013 elections were annulled twice until the opposition eventually won. Due to the MMPRC corruption and mistakes made by Yameen, people were desperate for change. Nasheed was disqualified from contesting by the court. He then supported his best friend Solih (and his cousin husband) to contest on the MDP ticket, who eventually won the 2018 presidential election with the endorsement of other parties. It was verbally agreed that there would be a midterm election after Nasheed was freed from the court verdict. However, everyone knew that this would not happen, and no one strongly pushed for it.ITS FINE OK. People did not know who Solih was until 2018. He was not widely recognized politically and had little political influence beyond his home island, Hinnavaru. To secure a parliamentary majority, Nasheed visited many islands, campaigned actively, and urged people to vote for MDP, noting that the party’s first government had been easily toppled due to the lack of a Majilis majority. However, what we later observed was that the Solih faction within the government and the Majlis openly used inappropriate and disrespectful language toward Nasheed, even in his presence. The Nasheed faction was sidelined both in the government and within the party. Meanwhile, Solih’s faction and senior members repeatedly claimed that the 2023 election could be won without Nasheed. Even in late 2023, the Nasheed team consulted Solih and attempted to reach common ground, but Solih’s team believed they could succeed in the election without the Nasheed faction. It is widely believed that Solih would not win the 2028 election, even with Nasheed’s full support and endorsement from FULL MDP TEAM,as the political landscape in the Maldives has changed significantly, and Solih is not seen as a strong candidate by many. VIDEO: How we used religion to give Tinubu victory – El-Rufai The former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has said that he and some northern governors used religion as a political tool to give victory to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election. According to the former governor, the decision to use religion as a political strategy was to help tackle the issue of tribalism and religion in politics in the country. The former governor stated this in a viral video. He was speaking to an audience in the Hausa language in Kaduna at an event before handing over to his successor. He said, “Allah sees our heart, me and Zamfara State Governor, Mutawalle did it because of God and we didn’t do it because of anything. We only do it in order to have solutions to the current religious problem we are having in Nigeria and for us to give South West Muslims a sense of belonging to rule. And it is because of religion that we used that gave Asiwaju victory.” He also noted that the Muslim/Muslim ticket that he used to achieve political success in Kaduna has now been replicated in Nigeria with the emergence of Bola Tinubu as president and Kashim Shetima as vice president. He said, “What we are able to achieve in Kaduna state now has been achieved in Nigeria as a whole. There is no liar that will come and say he will do politics as a Christian and win an election. Even Peter Obi didn’t win.” He stated that he alongside other northern governors successfully pushed for the emergence of a Yoruba Muslim from the South West as president despite opposition from some quarters El Rufai speaking in Hausa said in part, “Concerning the Presidential government, what Professor Akintola said is true. We the Northern governors agreed that the presidential position should go back to the West. It was a verbal promise but a promise whether written or spoken, God knows. “When we saw some people plotting for presidential position to remain in the North, we disagreed, we are not like that. We said we are Muslims and we have our traditions and we cannot go back on our words. That was the first step. The second step is after we all agreed or they realised that they cannot do anything, we will tackle the issue of tribalism and religion in politics in this country. We agreed that we will support BAT. “When we had that agreement I was not on good terms with him, (Tinubu), we were fighting. But Professor Akintola and their leaders came from Lagos and said this is their thought If power is given to the West since we all agreed that it should be given to them the Yoruba people from the South-West have a problem, their Muslims cannot contest, and win an election. A Christian will have to contest and have a Muslim from the North as a vice. They said since from Abiola it had never happened. They said they wanted that and I asked them to bring the person we will support and BAT got the ticket. We knew he will have to take a Muslim as his vice.” He added, “What we are able to achieve in Kaduna state now has been achieved in Nigeria as a whole. There's no liar that will come and say he will do politics as a Christian and win the election. Even Peter Obi didn't win.” Credit: Tafarkin Magabata TV --- Follow us for more breaking news and videos

Take 3 minutes and watch this! RFK Jr. responds to the Trump assassination attempt with a call for national unity: “I think we all need to take a breath now and step back and see that this is the product of so much vigil and so much anger and that when we release that kind of anger into the universe, it inevitably comes back and reverberates with these kind of consequences. All all of us now have to start looking at each other and saying, ‘we're all Americans and we're better than this. This isn't the way that we want our country to look to our children and look to people around the world.’ We need to stop hating on each other. We need to stop telling other people in the world that the other guy is going to destroy the republic. We need to recognize we're all Americans. We all love our country. It's time now to pray for the president, pray for his family, for President Trump, and to start being kind to each other and to start being generous to each other and to resist all of the implications that we continue in this kind of vitriolic way. Let's have an election. Let's go forward as Americans. Let's love each other. Let's trust each other, and let's rebuild this country as a community.” “Somebody in my group showed me a text message, and then we turned on the television and we watched it as the story was evolving. I've been through this before with my own family. I was with my dad. He died in Los Angeles. I understand the implications that this has for our country, and probably as well as anybody does. I think my message to people is we need to all renounce violence. We need to renounce not just violence, but the hatred and vitriol, and we need to stop marginalizing each other. Let’s have a dialogue with each other about doing that and a conversation and a debate. When my uncle was ill in 1963, there was this kind of division again. There was this kind of hatred when my father was ill. It was in the midst of a time that was probably the most divisive in American history at that time since the American Civil War, and we're back into that kind of milieu today. We all need to take responsibility for it. When we pose something that is mean-spirited, that is condemnatory, that is poisonous towards somebody else, we're contributing to this atmosphere of violence.”

Van Hollen: Now, we know the state of our Union. We know it is under attack from a lawless president who is shredding our Constitution and attacking our democracy. A president whose private ICE army kills Americans and then calls the victims “domestic terrorists.” That is what Donald Trump and his administration said. We are here because we know our country is being robbed by the most corrupt president in American history — one who is exploiting the Oval Office to enrich himself, his family, and his billionaire buddies. A president who continues to hide portions of the Epstein files from both survivors and the American people. When are they going to release the files? A president who wants to erase our history. Are we going to let him erase America’s history? A president who promised that on day one he would bring down costs — but ever since he was sworn in, prices have gone up on the American people, even as he refuses to extend tax cuts and tax credits that help families afford their health care. We have a president who seeks not to build a more perfect union, but to tear it down. A president who said he would stop wars — but instead is responsible for war crimes and, as we speak, is threatening more wars. We are gathered here because we know we cannot pretend that any of this is normal. We will not — and must not — pretend this is business as usual. We must get in the way of Donald Trump’s march toward fascism. We cannot let our country go down that road. What Donald Trump wants to do is what all bullies do — what all dictators do. He wants to intimidate us. He wants us to sit obediently and quietly while he lies and lies and lies to the American people.
