this is pure f*cking gold for anyone running coding agents Jev founder, Diogo Almeida, wrote a guide on building a Jev harness the expensive model only writes the code. every fork around it goes to Jev the bill: > 6,000 forks a day on a frontier model: $180 >...

the cost per fork adds up fast, but the value of automation can't be overlooked

Route the expensive model to the write path only. Forks, checks, and retries belong on the cheap lane — otherwise the harness is just a prettier way to burn tokens.

the cheap forks are the ones that answer off the prompt alone. yes or no, nothing attached. but a fork that has to read the code first means sending that code twice and that one isn't cheap on any model

Nice cost breakdown, but building/maintaining that harness costs dev time too. What's the break-even once a week of senior engineering goes into debugging the router?
