(Thanks to u/FragmentedChicken for testing this app for me and sharing the video!) A few months ago, Twitter user @Linus13499209 brought an app called WarpShare to my attention. WarpShare is an app made by the developers of MoKee, an AOSP-based custom ROM that was popular in China. Since MoKee wasn't as popular outside of China, it seems the existence of their WarpShare app slipped under the radar. I was skeptical about whether it would work at all. Grishka, the developer of NearDrop, an open source port of Google's Nearby Share to macOS, told me that they were under the assumption that AirDrop requires the use of AWDL (Apple Wireless Direct Link, Apple's proprietary WiFi-based protocol) to communicate both ways. However, it seems that AWDL is only required for your Android phone to be discoverable by your Mac (ie. to send files from your Mac to your Android phone) but not the other way around. Because of this, though, WarpShare only supports sending files from Android to Mac but not vice versa. Your Mac also needs to have AirDrop discoverability set to "everyone" for this to work, as "contacts-only" requires Apple-signed certificates. Plus, it also doesn't support sending files from Android to iPhones or iPads, even when "everyone" mode is enabled. Still, if you find other Android --> Mac file sharing options to be lackluster, give WarpShare a try! The fact that it works at all is incredible, which is why I'm sharing this news here. Samsung just added AirDrop support to Quick Share on the Galaxy S26. Google already did this on Pixel 10 last year. Now Samsung is doing it too. So Android and iPhone can now share files with each other natively. No apps. No cables. Rolling out from today. Korea gets it first. Then North America, Europe, Japan, Latin America, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Only S26 series for now. More devices later. You have to turn it on manually in Quick Share settings though. Not on by default. Is this the feature that finally makes file sharing between Android and iPhone less painful?

Major major props to aroha for solving a major limitation with Seedance 2.0. If you've tried uploading audio files directly, you know that Seedance 2.0 actually changes the lyrics and even the song itself BUT if you save out a blank video with the song and upload that video as a video omni reference it gives you perfect lipsync and no style drifting of the audio. I personally haven't notice style drift but it's 100% better than a straight audio upload which makes it unusable. This is actually MAJOR!!! Those music videos you've been wanting to generate with Seedance 2.0 are now solved. I tested this myself with some audio from Suno 5.5 which is the example you're watching right now and it works! I just wish Seedance 2.0 would actually fix the audio upload problem but this is an immediate fix. You don't need to type out the lyrics like I did. I think the best use case for using just an audio file is only if you want to keep a characters voice consistent.

The most exciting thing that I've been working on lately in the file search field is the GPU acceleration of file search. You might think that I'm dumb or something, but it is a real next step. fff is already on the edge of what is possible on CPU, but our design with the storage is actually oriented on the embarrassingly parallel search, which couldn't be more effective than on GPU. If you'd think about this deeper: 99% of the time file search happens on the local machine of the user. Your melting macbook pro that is using precious CPU cycles to build your Rust project right now is getting wasted on the smart typo-resistant fuzzy matching which is a quadratic complexity algorithm that needs more resources the longer your query is. What if we use GPU instead? Cause we already have it and it is likely idle if user is typing into a search box. And honestly there are some good results so far. I was able to bring fff down to 20% cpu usage at all times no matter how absurdly long your queries are and no matter how many files you have Here is a little sneak peak. Running on M4 max 1.6TB home dir

Rejoice. Just following up with another quick W in Codex You can now configure your reasoning level in plan mode separately directly from your config file. This is huge for Plus users who want to plan with high or xhigh reasoning levels, and then switch over to medium reasoning for implementation, without needing the slash command. This is a great way to save your usage limits, and now it happens automatically. Even if you're on Pro, this should make you very happy. Prior to this, it was switching you automatically to medium every time you planned, which was pretty annoying. Place this near the top of your config file: plan_mode_reasoning = "high" (or xhigh) 0.150.0 is a massive quality of life update. They're clearly listening. This time I am shouting out Charlie. 🙏

🚨Gemini 3.6 Flash is trash I tested it on a 3D Golden Gate Bridge, and the results were awful. • I had to re-prompt it three times because it repeatedly ignored the instructions. • First attempt, instead of creating the requested .html file, it first tried to build the experience inside the Gemini app using simulations. • Then second attempt it started placing images from the web into the chat rather than actually producing the file. • Even after getting it to complete the task, the final output was dramatically worse than Gemini 3.1 Pro, which is 5 months old and now not even a top 10 model on leaderboards. This feels like a regression from Gemini 3.5 Flash and honestly, it is one of the weakest models I have tested in the past few months. Has anyone else tested Gemini 3.6 Flash yet, and are you seeing the same thing?

As part of Android 11's Scoped Storage restrictions, apps that use the Storage Access Framework (SAF) to launch the documents picker are not supposed to be able to get access to files and folders under the /Android/data or /Android/obb directories. However, third-party file managers figured out that if they set the initial directory when launching the documents picker to either /Android/data or /Android/obb, the documents picker lets the user grant the app full access to directories. This loophole was patched in Android 13, but then another loophole was discovered that got around this. Since Android 13 only blocked apps from setting /Android/data or /Android/obb as the initial directory when launching the documents picker, it was quickly discovered that you could set the initial directory to one of the subdirectories under /Android/data or /Android/obb, thus the user could grant access to individual subdirectories one-by-one. However, this latest loophole was patched with a recent Google Play System Update. I was the first Korean in the world to take a ride in a Tesla Cybercab, and I’m incredibly proud of that. 🇰🇷 You can probably tell from these raw, unedited videos just how excited I was getting into it for the very first time. No steering wheel. No pedals. No driver. Just me getting into a Cybercab and trusting it to take me where I needed to go. Even now, it still feels surreal that this is actually live and operating in the real world. I’ve followed Tesla and believed in this future for 10+ years, so getting to experience it firsthand, being one of the select few to be invited to the launch event, and represent Korea while doing it… is something I’ll never forget. These are the raw moments from my very first ride. You can see it from my reactions… I was like a kid experiencing the future for the first time.
